I went to see Dr. Ruth Sims because my dog had an ear infection. She did an external exam (which the receptionist wouldn't take, " no, I don't want one ", from me at all ). I was under the impression that I definitely needed one, or the dog wasn't going to be seen ( my first time, i didn't know better ). It was upsetting to me that I was told that I also had to have the external exam, money spent that was not necessary! My funds are very limited but I didn't want to see my dog in pain anymore.
I was sent home with a print out of the exam as well as medication for her ear. What pissed me off is the external exam ($71.50, my money wasted ) stated that her eyes were bright and clear ( not true, she did NOT have bright clear eyes, she had cataracts )!
One thing that I do know, is that, I could see that she had cataracts. I called and asked if they gave an okay on the eyes in error of one of the other 'external' body parts examined, perhaps something that needs attention, you know, like the things I can't see, heart, gastrointestinal, etc ). The reply was, "we will call you back". I waited 2 days and received no call. I called again, asking for Dr. Ruth Sims to please call me. I have never received a call from anyone.
I do not know how that exam was necessary for the problem that I took my dog in for. I need every penny I have, but I also try to do what's best for my dog.
Take the money and run!

I will not return here. I now go to a happier vet on the East side. Read Less
