A friend recommended  this clinic when I needed to get routine vaccinations for my dogs after moving to Ennis. Dr Ryan and his staff are very attentive and friendly. My oldest dog needed surgery last year and Dr Ryan walked through the treatment with me, answered all my questions and put me at ease. My dog made a complete recovery. Our pets are like family to us & being a pet owner, you hope you'll never need to visit the vet apart from the annual vaccination. But as our small animals age, they need more care and attention. We were desperate one Saturday afternoon for emergency treatment. When most other vets were closed, Meghan invited us to her surgery in Ennis. She undertook blood and other lab tests there and then whilst we waited. She discussed her diagnosis in a calm way that allowed us to make the right decisions and created a plan for respite and recovery. We have no doubt she saved our cats life. Other vets would have simply put the cat down. Our cat has since gone on to recover and has a fighting chance of a decent quality of life thanks to the care and dedication both Meghan, Sinéad and the team at Ennis Vetinary Clinic showed. We received daily updates until our cat was discharged and we've now a plan in place to manage her condition. Most out of hours vets have an emergency number you can call but in our experience, this is simply a vet in a car at the side of the road administering the bare minimum. Friendly, and competent Vet, with what seems like a very cynical business model. Make a big fuss about the dog/cat. Avoid obvious conclusions. Worry the customer just enough for them to order superfluous tests, or buy over-priced food. Obviously, not being vets ourselves it was difficult for us to know for sure, but a friend independently reached the same conclusion without us saying anything. First visit was a blood test (90) which even sounded as if it was unnecessary to begin with. Next was a stool sample test. As our dog had blood in the pooh, we thought we ought to do this - but now I'm thinking that they avoided obvious conclusions first. The next visit after that they started talking about X-rays. We had the very hard job of bringing our beloved dog Tyson to the vets to be put asleep after his long battle with cancer of the bladder. From the moment of making the first phone call , we were treated with so much dignity and respect with the arrangements being made for our visit. The staff were so professional and genuinely kind and caring and we were able to spend our last moments with Tyson in privacy with the staff giving us all the time and support we needed on such a difficult day for my wife and I. Tyson slipped away very peacefully and everything was looked after for us.
