First referral small animal practice establised in January 1993, Veterinarian Richard Healy MVB MRCVS has 28 years experience working in practice. Richard has also worked in Australia gaining experience working in a specialised greyhound hospital.
Denise Philpott MVDR MRCVS has recently joined our practice, she graduated in 2006 at F.U Berlin and has worked across England. Denise has a very welcoming and friendly nature towards clients and animals. Denise has a special interest in Cardiology and is now gaining extra qualifications in this subject.
With friendly nurses and our practice cat 'Lola' (the white cat) we take pride in caring for your pets and are always welcoming new clients to Westside Veterinary Hospital.
A range of services are avalible at our practice such as surgeries, ultrasound, radiography, blood sampling, dentistry, one on one consultations, advice on nutrition and many more.

You couldn't ask for better people to look after your fur babies than Richard and staff we had to put our beautiful lexi to sleep a few months ago and Richard was so kind and helpful throughout yesterday our cat was very sick and he again got the best care thank God he came out the other side and is resting at home tonight thanks to everyone at Westside veterinary you simply are the best been dealing with Richard for about 26 years couldn't ask for a better get keep up the good work guys you are the best xxxx

Richard and the staff are all lovely and so attentive to Pepe when he has to go there and I have taken all my previous dogs to Richard. I will also never forget how good he was when my dog was savaged...
Richard and the staff are all lovely and so attentive to Pepe when he has to go there and I have taken all my previous dogs to Richard. I will also never forget how good he was when my dog was savaged many years ago in Bishopstown. I would rate them higher if I could.

I went there twice due to good comments I read about this clinic. Unfortunately, the vet couldn't diagnose my dog a heart murmur, who had obvious signs.

We have trusted Richard with our pets for the last 15 years and cannot thank him enough for the attention and care they receive each and every time. This week we had to say goodbye to a much loved friend and we were accommodated with a time when it was quiet and despite it being the end of a long working day we were not at any stage rushed. It made such a difficult time so much easier and provided much comfort to us. Thank you Richard and Janet and the team for looking after our boys and us so well . Joanne , Trevor & Darragh

I took our two dogs to Westside yesterday for their annual checkup and vaccinations. They're both 10 years old, but they bounded in like a pair of pups - they love visiting Richard and his staff and that says it all about Westside. Richard loves the animals and they love visiting him - even if it does hurt (a tiny bit!) The dogs benefit from the latest technology, and the best bedside manner. Thanks Richard!

There comes a time to say goodbye......& we are very grateful to Richard for his carefully considered advice& help when our 15 1/2 years old laborador (and ourselves) needed it most. Nothing was too much trouble and there was no rush despite a very busy Saturday morning waiting room; just perfect understanding, care& empathy. Thank you all at Westside. Helen & Ernest.

I wouldn't go anywhere else, I have been going to Richard literally and physically years & years and feel so confident with my babies being seen by Richard I would only trust him with them and no one else He thinks I am mad but he hopefully expects it out of mom's and dad's lol. I trust him so much with the care that he gives each one of my babies no matter what the outcome is be it bad or good I am happy leaving afterwards.

Richard and the staff are all lovely and so attentive to Pepe when he has to go there and I have taken all my previous dogs to Richard. I will also never forget how good he was when my dog was savaged many years ago in Bishopstown. I would rate them higher if I could.

We have trusted Richard with our pets for the last 15 years and cannot thank him enough for the attention and care they receive each and every time. I took our two dogs to Westside yesterday for their annual checkup and vaccinations. They're both 10 years old, but they bounded in like a pair of pups - they love visiting Richard and his staff and that says it all about Westside.
