Very Very bad experience with this vet in December 2020. My dos needed stitches after receiving a dog bite and the stiches were not done properly (as confirmed by the new vet). He then needed 3 more visits to the new vet to correct the problem and additional antibiotics as there was a risk of infection. Also they did not have an out of hours emergency no. when I called on a Sunday evening so I was frantically trying to find a vet to bring him to. Mr Mc Carthy, the clinic owner, did not apologise for this lack of service and did not reassure me that it would be rectified for future customers. If I could give zero star I would but doesnt give that option ATTENTION AVOID THIS PLACE 😡 I had my bernese mountain dog with them on Friday 25th September 2020 and I cant Express enough on the lack of service and neglect of my dog. 1. Vet told me there was nothing wrong with him. 2. My baby was in visable pain and I had to insist on a pain killer which was injection form. 3.my baby was dripping blood on the floor with urine to which i said maybe infection to which he replied No. 4. I asked for bloods to be taken a number of times he kept saying no need, so i insisted bloods were taken and was due back monday 28th. 5. I finally got a call on Monday after me making the first 2 calls by apparently the owner who was rude and condescending. He then said he doesnt know why he was given the meds they were the wrong ones, if hes in pain give him half a paracetamol and the proper meds will be left at the desk today 29th, he then said he has a busy surgery and no time to talk. I'm my opinion this is complete neglect of an animal which is my fur baby so I am picking up meds and the results of his bloods to get a second opinion. Anyone who has animals knows them well and knows if something is wrong with them well I know I do, Its horrible to see your dog in pain and discomfort WHICH THEY LEFT HIM IN. I am upset annoyed and discussed and would recommend anyone to stay away from this practice at all costs. Will actively avoid in future. The treatment my cat received here was careless at best and probably negligent. The treatment received was inappropriate and I was unable to contact anyone for 48 hours over a weekend when my cat was hospitalised with them - I had information to pass on. My dog spencer had a soft pallet reconstruction & nare surgery with Billy. He was much better after the op. He also had an emergency blood transfusion when he became really ill one year & was back to himself in no time. Read Less

I have been taking my dog Beauty here for thirteen years. In that time Beauty and my family have met all the vets. Beauty s treatment here has always been exceptional. She has had her annual check ups, several procedures carried out, medications prescribed, toe nails cut, infections attended to, Blood tests and X-rays taken and kennel cough injections administered . It has been an amazing hospital on my doorstep and I would not go anywhere else with my dog for treatment . On our most recent visit, Beauty had a kidney infection and her arthritis was giving her pain and she had difficulty walking. She was in the capable hands of Dr George who x-rayed her and put her on steroids and antibiotics. Beauty is back to herself again. The vet even telephoned to check on her progress as he knows we are dealing with a much loved and old dog in doggie years. Dr William McCartney is a wonderful vet who has made many advances in the field of veterinary surgery and as it stands has contributed to no less than 63 peer reviewed papers on various areas of his field. It seems that the only complaint other commenters have is his demeanour. I agree he can be abrupt at times, but that in no way takes away from my opinion of him. He is a highly skilled veterinary surgeon and I have been taking my dog to him for over 10 years. I wouldn't take her anywhere else. I moved an hour's drive from his practice 7 years ago but I still make the effort to go to him. Check out his LinkedIn profile for details of the considerable contribution he has made in his career. Would give no stars if I could. Absolutely appauled with the way my pet and I were treated. To cap it all off we were referred for an mri however this was not even done. I would not reccommend at all as the vet we dealth with billy was very arrogant and did not listen at and told me not to bring my dog back he didnt want him back. I brought my dog, Chompers, to NOAH vet after I noticed him limping on his right side and him not running around the house as often as he would before. After getting an X-ray done, Chompers was diagnosed with congenital hip dysplasia and risked having osteoarthritis of the hip. But thanks to Dr. McCartney and his team, Chompers underwent a total right hip replacement and is happily running around the house and backyard again now like nothing was ever wrong. I would give you zero stars if I could! I would not recommended anybody send their dog here for an MRI. I would not recommend anyone should take Billy 's advice on any matter concerning the welfare of their loved animals as he tends to do alot of guesswork. Thankfully I didn't euthanise my dog on the "ADVICE" that "she would NEVER walk again" and she has made a full recovery and is med free & going for regular walks & swims. As for the "tumour" second and third opinions seriously question the likelihood..... by the skin of her teeth she is still here as my own vet took your word and advised the same!!! Got the cutest little vaccination reminders in post for our cats for their annual vaccinations, got 2 individual ones for each cat a few wks before their appointment was due!!
