I definitely would Not Recommend this practice if you care about your pet at sll. My beautiful dog Milo was misdiagnosed at this practice. As a result of this misdiagnosis, they carried out an unecessary operation for a blocked bowel, which he did not have. At Cara Vets he picked up MRSA and MRSP, resulting in an incredibly painful dying off of half the skin on his tummy over the day and a half after his operation, whilst at the practice. I was not allowed to see him during this time. After which they finally rang and told me he needed to be brought to UCD Vetinary Hospital Urgently, and I needed to get a taxi to bring him there immediately.
Milo spent five weeks in isolation in UCD, as they tried to cure the MRSA and MRSA. Milo shrunk to skin and bone, and was shutting down as a result of the isolation. At the end of his time there, it was discovered he was misdiagnosed in the first place, and never needed the operation carried out by Cara Vets, where he picked up the MRSA and MRSP. Milo only lived for some weeks after his release from UCD Vet Hospital.
Cara never apologised for what happened to him, and charged me over 800 Euro for carrying out the operation, despite causing a further bill of over 2,000 Euro in UCD to deal with the MRSA and MRSP.
I found the Practice Manager at Cara to be very unsympathetic to the pain and suffering caused, and only interested in their 800 Euro.
I would Definitely Not Recommend the practice under any circumstances.

Cara Vet, Sydney Nagle and his Sidekick Manager Vickie have caused a lot of pain to both people and henceforth in turn, to animals and pet patients in how this vile charade treat public and conduct buisness. Google Gript.ie, Ashton Pound, sydney Nagle. This vet has been under investigation by Bridewell Garda since July 2020. Gript.ie have confirmed arrests made tonight with regard animal cruelty and the activities of Ashton Pound of which this vet was the chief executioner of dogs assigned to Ashton Pound for the last 20 years. I've had my own first hand experience with this vet. I found both he and especially the Practice manager extremely cruel and heartless in their actions toward me. Sorry I ever set foot in this hell hole.

Really like this practice. Brought my sick puppy in last week as she had damaged her eye and it would not open. The vet was excellent and done his best and made sure to check her fully and made sure she wasn’t in pain. The next day my puppy was on the mend with her eye open and has now fully recovered. I rang on a Sunday and they told me to come in straight away with the pup. Much appreciated will definitely be using this vet again with my two dogs.

Since 2007 I've brought both my cat and dogs to Cara veterinary - both hospital and clinic - and always received excellent care and service. The staff are all wonderful, and all together have created a great culture. My dog Loki refused to leave when we were there earlier... which is common for him. Says it all really!

We went there once and would not be back. Our small puppy got an eye infection and we did overreact, it was weekend (as it is in those cases) and this place was the only one around which was open. So we went there (thinking it will be our puppy’s VET anyway). The first thing I heard was that I must have an appointment to see the Vet but instead of sending us away, which I wish they did, they took us in with all the puffing and annoyance one can show another human being. We heard how we should have had an appointment twice from receptionist upon arrival, twice from the Vet and at least few more times after the visit, while making the payment. I did not hear half as much about my puppy's health as I heard about the appointment I did not have. I did so much of apologizing I felt as if I ruined someone’s wedding day. They charged us of course, handsomely for their precious time (still, not a smile between the two of them). We had many questions about the puppy but we left with no answers feeling as if this is one of those places that operates on “one appointment per one issue only” basis. Please note we paid full fee for the visit, another fee for an eye test plus medicine so it is not as if anyone was doing us a favor of any sort. This is the closest Vet clinic around but we prefer now to drive across the town to the VET that actually does his job for the right reasons. (I'm giving two stars because the eye drops worked).

We've tried a few vets in the area and Cara Vet are by far the best. Have 1 dog and 3 cats. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who do an amazing job looking after our gang.

Not my go to vets for everything. One of the vets talks to my cat like they are a child, freaks us out. Rosemary is lovely on reception. Some of the nurses are not the friendliest. Always left waiting...
Not my go to vets for everything. One of the vets talks to my cat like they are a child, freaks us out. Rosemary is lovely on reception. Some of the nurses are not the friendliest. Always left waiting a long time even with an appointment. Not my fav vets have to be honest. Its just handy.

We've been going to Cara for over 6 years with our bunny Biscuit. A lot of places treat anything that's not a cat or dog like an afterthought but Cara have always been exceptional. We had a tough time last year, it was very touch and go but Cara were with us every step of the way and kept us informed. Luckily she came through and is back to loving life! Every time we bring her in she gets 5 star treatment and I always feel confident leaving her in the hands of Jenny, Syd, Tracey, Kirsten, etc. The biggest plus for me is that you can tell they actually all care which is worth its weight in gold. Keep up the good work!

Great staff, very helpful and very caring towards the animals, they are left in safe hands. They go out of their way to make sure your pet is well cared for and feeling well. They are always friendly and treat the animals like royalty. The facilities are great and not overly expensive.

Instead of being compassionate as their mission statement states they Are their vet witheld all information regarding the puppy unless he was given 100e. This is putting profit before compassion and is unprofessional in Every way. Its a Total disgrace to see a family sobbing and still dont know if poppy is dead or alive. Im a Staff nurse and thank god that Our Medical profession Are not allowed to put profit before health . Disgrace and shame on you Care vet Group.

Syd, Tracey, Rosie and all the nurses at Cara care are beyond amazing, they really care about your pets and do everything they can to ensure both your pet and you are happy and reassured. Whenever our cats go in for surgery ( it happens more they you would think... ) they always keep us updated throughout the day meaning I stop worrying :) We lived in town for a while and used to drive past numerous other vets with a screeching cat in the car just to get to Cara as they are so good.

I would like to thank Sid Nagel; and all his woulderful and caring staff for helping my dog Miss Shelby with her cruciate repair to her rear right stiffle; on 21st October 2014. She is back to herself walking and running as normal. Her operation was a Fantastic success.I would highly recommend Cara Vets to you. Once you go there with your pet you will never want to take your pet or pets anywhere else again. 5 star treatment.

Great people and very accommodating. We left our cats a few times in the morning before going to work and picked them up in the evening no bother, no charge, kitties very happy. That's very handy when you need to get them neutered, since there's no operation at weekends in any vet. We even got a handy nail cutting job free of charge that i've never been able to reproduce that good myself. Price wise they're quite good and are willing to give a bit of discount if you have more than 1 pet.

Really like this practice. Brought my sick puppy in last week as she had damaged her eye and it would not open. We brought our dog to Cara vets for the first time on Thursday. Unfortunately our dog was very sick and we put him to sleep. I was very happy and satisfied with the staff and how we were stealth with during this sad time. I would not go anywhere else now other than Cara vets. Thank you again for all you did for us and for Bruce xxx

We've been going to Cara for over 6 years with our bunny Biscuit. A lot of places treat anything that's not a cat or dog like an afterthought but Cara have always been exceptional. We had a tough time last year, it was very touch and go but Cara were with us every step of the way and kept us informed. Luckily she came through and is back to loving life! Every time we bring her in she gets 5 star treatment and I always feel confident leaving her in the hands of Jenny, Syd, Tracey, Kirsten, etc. The biggest plus for me is that you can tell they actually all care which is worth its weight in gold. Keep up the good work!

Great staff, very helpful and very caring towards the animals, they are left in safe hands. They go out of their way to make sure your pet is well cared for and feeling well. They are always friendly and treat the animals like royalty. The facilities are great and not overly expensive.

I think Cara have let themselves down badly they let a two year old and a five year old Little boys go to bed tonight crying their eyes out not knowing if their puppy poppy was dead or alive. Instead of being compassionate as their mission statement states they Are their vet witheld all information regarding the puppy unless he was given 100e. This is putting profit before compassion and is unprofessional in Every way. Its a Total disgrace to see a family sobbing and still dont know if poppy is dead or alive. Im a Staff nurse and thank god that Our Medical profession Are not allowed to put profit before health . Disgrace and shame on you Care vet Group.

Syd, Tracey, Rosie and all the nurses at Cara care are beyond amazing, they really care about your pets and do everything they can to ensure both your pet and you are happy and reassured. Whenever our cats go in for surgery ( it happens more they you would think... ) they always keep us updated throughout the day meaning I stop worrying :) We lived in town for a while and used to drive past numerous other vets with a screeching cat in the car just to get to Cara as they are so good.

I would like to thank Sid Nagel; and all his woulderful and caring staff for helping my dog Miss Shelby with her cruciate repair to her rear right stiffle; on 21st October 2014. She is back to herself walking and running as normal. Her operation was a Fantastic success.I would highly recommend Cara Vets to you. Once you go there with your pet you will never want to take your pet or pets anywhere else again. 5 star treatment.

Great people and very accommodating. We left our cats a few times in the morning before going to work and picked them up in the evening no bother, no charge, kitties very happy. That's very handy when you need to get them neutered, since there's no operation at weekends in any vet. We even got a handy nail cutting job free of charge that i've never been able to reproduce that good myself. Price wise they're quite good and are willing to give a bit of discount if you have more than 1 pet.
