AVOID! - The owner of Applewood Vetinary Clinic, Krzysztof Wisniewski is interested more in his bank balance than the welfare of your pet.
In September 2017, we got our cat spayed at Applewood Vetinary Clinic. In May 2018, our cat had kittens, whilst I was 7 months pregnant.
When we got the operation done, we were advised by Margaret, the vet that performed the surgery, that our cat would have an Ovariohysterectomy.
Margaret (and Shona, who also works at the clinic), came to our home on the day we told her about the kittens. She was apologetic, explained that they had only done an Ovarioectomy, though in our case - unsuccessfully. Margaret offered to cover all associated costs, which we assumed would be covered by the clinic.
Margaret later informed us that she was leaving the clinic, and Krzysztof, the owner, manager and practicing vet, would be handling the situation.
A month went by, and we heard nothing from the clinic, so we rang and made an appointment to have our cat and the kittens de-wormed, and attended the clinic.
Once wo got there, we were told by a male colleague that if we wanted to see Krzysztof, we would have to pay a consultation fee. We told him that we weren't going to pay any consultation fee, and that Krzysztof, can come out and tell us himself.
Krzysztof, eventually came out, and we went into the consultation room. He informed us that there was credit on our account, which had been given to the clinic, personally by Margaret. We told him that it was disgusting of him to charge his employee for a mistake, whilst working on behalf of his clinic. We explained to him that we are reasonable people and that mistakes do happen, though we do expect his clinic to take responsibility, and not his former employee.
He distanced himself from the whole situation, blaming everything on Margaret. We told him that we were disappointed with his attitude, and disgusted that he would charge us to see him, which we again reminded him that we weren't going to do. We then got on to discussing this credit that was on our account, which were to go towards the above mentioned costs. We told Krzysztof, that we wanted to take this credit in cash, and use it as we felt necessary. He told us that he wasn't going to give it to us in cash, and that we could only use it towards the costs incurred at his clinic. We told him that we weren't happy with that, nor were we going to allow him to profit from the misfortune that had been created by his clinic.
We also explained to Krzysztof, that during the hottest summer in years, we have had to keep the cats and kittens indoors, as we didn't want our cat to get pregnant again, nor the kittens to go out until they were weaned off their mother, and they had had their injections. So we have had to endure a stuffy, hot home, had extra food costs, litter tray costs and transportation costs, which Krzysztof, did not care about, nor was he going to compensate us for. It got to the point in the conversation that he would rather be sued than pay for these costs. Eventually, Shona came in to calm the situation down, and told us that we could take the credit in cash, which we did, much to Krzysztof's disappointment.
At this point I was 8 months pregnant, and told Krzysztof, that we would get our cat re-spayed after I had given birth, and settled with our first born baby.
After minimal deliberation, we could not justify having our cat re-spayed, nor have any other pet care provided by Applewood Vetinary Clinic. Our conscious would not allow us to put any more money into Krzysztof's pocket, especially as this is all that he is interested in.
We have since gone to Swords Vetinary Hospital to have our cat re-spayed, which actually charge less for the surgery than Applewood Vetinary Clinic. They were very sympathetic to our situation, and performed the Ovariohysterectomy successfully on Friday. Our cat is now recovering nicely.
To summarise, I recommend that you do not use Applewood Vetinary Clinic if you want the best care for you pet. Read Less
