I was here in Monday, with stray kitten, with cat flu symptoms. Vet though it may be bacterial infection so he prescribed an clavucill in hopes that flu will clear out too. 3 days letter kitten didn’t feel better. Instead after giving here the pill, I see she was breathing more heavily. So I call in to see if the vet will change the antibiotics, instead I got respond, I have to bring in the kitten for another examination, because the vet who looked at my kitten is off. ( if I would have free time to go to vet every day I would ) but that is not the case. So good for me that I work hard and pay 90€ bill for examination and antibiotics that didn’t help and could make it worse. I didn’t give up and ask can other vet look at the chart and change the antibiotics, because the situation or the symptoms have not changed . Answer was no we can’t do anything till you bring kitten in. Very nice service, recommend to everyone sho have everyday off , and money to spend Will never use this vet clinic again Read Less

Dear Dace, Thank you for your review. In our professional opinion it was safer to see the kitten again in the clinic. I hope you understand that checking the animal in order to change the medications is needed in certain cases. Kind Regards. Applewood Vets

AVOID! - The owner of Applewood Vetinary Clinic, Krzysztof Wisniewski is interested more in his bank balance than the welfare of your pet. In September 2017, we got our cat spayed at Applewood Vetinary Clinic. In May 2018, our cat had kittens, whilst I was 7 months pregnant. When we got the operation done, we were advised by Margaret, the vet that performed the surgery, that our cat would have an Ovariohysterectomy. Margaret (and Shona, who also works at the clinic), came to our home on the day we told her about the kittens. She was apologetic, explained that they had only done an Ovarioectomy, though in our case - unsuccessfully. Margaret offered to cover all associated costs, which we assumed would be covered by the clinic. Margaret later informed us that she was leaving the clinic, and Krzysztof, the owner, manager and practicing vet, would be handling the situation. A month went by, and we heard nothing from the clinic, so we rang and made an appointment to have our cat and the kittens de-wormed, and attended the clinic. Once wo got there, we were told by a male colleague that if we wanted to see Krzysztof, we would have to pay a consultation fee. We told him that we weren't going to pay any consultation fee, and that Krzysztof, can come out and tell us himself. Krzysztof, eventually came out, and we went into the consultation room. He informed us that there was credit on our account, which had been given to the clinic, personally by Margaret. We told him that it was disgusting of him to charge his employee for a mistake, whilst working on behalf of his clinic. We explained to him that we are reasonable people and that mistakes do happen, though we do expect his clinic to take responsibility, and not his former employee. He distanced himself from the whole situation, blaming everything on Margaret. We told him that we were disappointed with his attitude, and disgusted that he would charge us to see him, which we again reminded him that we weren't going to do. We then got on to discussing this credit that was on our account, which were to go towards the above mentioned costs. We told Krzysztof, that we wanted to take this credit in cash, and use it as we felt necessary. He told us that he wasn't going to give it to us in cash, and that we could only use it towards the costs incurred at his clinic. We told him that we weren't happy with that, nor were we going to allow him to profit from the misfortune that had been created by his clinic. We also explained to Krzysztof, that during the hottest summer in years, we have had to keep the cats and kittens indoors, as we didn't want our cat to get pregnant again, nor the kittens to go out until they were weaned off their mother, and they had had their injections. So we have had to endure a stuffy, hot home, had extra food costs, litter tray costs and transportation costs, which Krzysztof, did not care about, nor was he going to compensate us for. It got to the point in the conversation that he would rather be sued than pay for these costs. Eventually, Shona came in to calm the situation down, and told us that we could take the credit in cash, which we did, much to Krzysztof's disappointment. At this point I was 8 months pregnant, and told Krzysztof, that we would get our cat re-spayed after I had given birth, and settled with our first born baby. After minimal deliberation, we could not justify having our cat re-spayed, nor have any other pet care provided by Applewood Vetinary Clinic. Our conscious would not allow us to put any more money into Krzysztof's pocket, especially as this is all that he is interested in. We have since gone to Swords Vetinary Hospital to have our cat re-spayed, which actually charge less for the surgery than Applewood Vetinary Clinic. They were very sympathetic to our situation, and performed the Ovariohysterectomy successfully on Friday. Our cat is now recovering nicely. To summarise, I recommend that you do not use Applewood Vetinary Clinic if you want the best care for you pet. Read Less

I moved to Applewood Vet after having a bad experience with my previous vet clinic. I have found them very warm, kind and patient, which you need when you have an extremely neurotically anxious greyhound. I find the prices to be within the range that I paid at my old vet so that isn't a factor at all. Shauna the receptionist I find is particularly helpful and a great asset to the clinic. Also Kristoff I find has a very good way with my dog even when she is being a complete drama queen. Since going to this clinic I no longer feel anxious for my dog because I know she's in good hands! I can not recommend this vet clinic at all, doctors absolutely not professional, especially Magda, not sure if she was finishing any college or university to work with animals. We booked appointment in this clinic in advance for euthanasia of our cat as she had cancer and metastases all around her lungs. Magda volunteered to do an euthanasia , our cat was very week, she tried to get into her vein several times but it was evident that she did not get into it. The cat mewed in pain in the foot, because Magda pulled her foot to much. I was shocked because she was trying to try to inject more and more but did not get into it. It was so hard on the situation that you have to put down your nearest pet, and then there's vet doctor who does not know how to do all this. This Vet still needs to learn how to do injections into the vein, and not practiced on the exhausted animal. The first time I encountered such a lack of professionalism. I refused to do euthanasia at Magda and took the cat. We went to Lissenhall Vet Hospital where doctor made our kitty euthanasia quick and painless, I do not know why we did not go there at once, and chose a place close to home. As well as that ask the price before you make any treatment for your pet, as every one say you the different price list. Read Less

I wouldn't be mad on this vet. My brother's dog got sick on the floor and the receptionist didn't ask if the dog was ok or offer tissue to clean it up and walked passed him. My brother also paid a fortune for surgery etc and he still had to pay €5 etc for clean dressings etc at check ups. The vets i use don't charge for aftercare and i think are more caring, It made me appreciate the vet i use even more. Read Less

Really caring, friendly staff. We had to call the emergency number one Sunday evening as our cat had become very sick. Margaret met us at the clinic and was extremely supportive and reassuring. She is very knowledgeable and cared a great deal about our cat, who now doesn't mind his trips to the vets and Margaret's pats. Can't thank everyone enough! Read Less

Read Less
