After my elderly buddy Remus got sick the first time he came to Galway to live with me I have tried a few vet clinics around. Either the medication wasn't quite right or Remus couldn't warm up to the vets. My co-worker recommended to take my pup to Barna Vets. It's quite a track for us as we live in Doughiska, but honestly we have never gone to another vet since our first visit. Leanne, Joanne, Michelle - wonderful vets! They always treat Remus with greate care and very cautiously, as an older gentleman should be treated :) Joanne was actually the vet that met my newly adopted border collie Chip - who was terrified of everyone. Now Chip is quite fond of everyone in Barna as he was allowed to sit quietly next to people after his surgery, instead of being in a kennel. All the staff in Barna are absolutely lovely! I am very grateful to all of them.Read Less

Very disappointed with today's service in Barna. We had our 12-year old springer spaniel in for teeth cleaning and nails clipping under anaesthetic. We were told it would come to 160€. We got a call this afternoon to say they had to pull 10 TEETH, he will have to take antibiotics and anti inflammatories for a week. And all of a sudden the bill came to 280€!!!!!! Not the first time this has happened. Money doesn't grow on trees!!!! And not to mention what they did to our poor dog. Completely unnecessary for a dog his age. He is still bleeding the poor fella and open to all sorts of infections. We would have appreciated a phone call before you went ahead with this instead of being faced with a bloody bill and bleeding dog..... Read Less
