Brought my dog Mike to Grey Abbey on Thursday 30th November for a check up as he had been discharged from another veterinary hospital without medication or follow up appointment. He was given a complete check up, had his very dirty ears checked and swabbed, swabs sent away. The care he received there was excellent, no rush to get him out the door. Mike was certainly happier having had most of the wax removed from his ears, he is now home on medication for his ears and to control his balance. The vet was excellent and took the time to discuss his issues with us. given our previous experience it was a pleasure to deal with someone who really cared about an animal who is at least 13 years old and wants to go on enjoying his life with his room mates for a few more years. Thank you so much to the veterinary surgeon involved, hopefully we get the outcome we are all hoping for. It was a pleasure dealing with you and the other staff in Grey Abbey. Brian on reception is now helping me with transferring my Zoo to this excellent practice. An added bonus is the fact that if an animal needs to stay overnight they will get the care they need.

The vet took our dog out back and SEDATED him without our permission and then had the nerve to charge us €89 for something we didn’t consent to. Extremely unprofessional I left a veterinary practice before as the vet failed to ask for permission when sedating my dog. It’s very unprofessional. Just because you have a veterinary degree does not mean you can act without consent in a situation which is not an emergency. Consult with your clients, so you can both decide what the best course of action is. Very upset that my dog has been sedated essentially for no reason. Poor boy. Sedation comes with risks, risks I did not chose or consent to.

I would have liked to be there with the dog before he was put to sleep. I may not have been the owner but I spend a good few days with him and now I feel like I let him down by leaving him in the clin...
I would have liked to be there with the dog before he was put to sleep. I may not have been the owner but I spend a good few days with him and now I feel like I let him down by leaving him in the clinic. Was it the right thing to do, undubitably. Was it compassionate, absolutely not.

Brought my dog Mike to Grey Abbey on Thursday 30th November for a check up as he had been discharged from another veterinary hospital without medication or follow up appointment. He was given a complete check up, had his very dirty ears checked and swabbed, swabs sent away. The care he received there was excellent, no rush to get him out the door. Mike was certainly happier having had most of the wax removed from his ears, he is now home on medication for his ears and to control his balance.
