Want to say a massive thanks to James and all his staff for all they done for us and our dog Spot. Spot was hit nearly 4 weeks ago and we rushed him into James in his surgery. After our dog Poppy got Hit by a car on saturday night We called James and he came out and took her home and into the surgery the following day. She had a fractured skull broken nose fractured ribs and a collasped lung. He was absolutely brilliant with her and as far as we're concerned he saved her life. James has been our vet for the last 8 yrs he is fantastic with animals and their families. I have called James late at night when my dads dog was poorly and he offered advice and reassurance. Took 3 stray kittens here all with cat flu 2 to rehome and one to keep but needed medical treatment. James said one had pan leucopenia (fatal and uncommon in ireland. he just looked at her, poked her back (no symptoms of pan leucopenia) and gave her 60/40 she would die.He gave her drops and apparently a drip,an injection which i I have no proof he actually did because he told me to come back in an hr. Asked if i would take all 3 kittens back home to get them well and after the sicky one dies I'll have 2 others to choose from. Went home and Googled pan leucopenia seen the kitten had no symptoms what so ever.I googled the drops to make sure they was ok to use, her eyes started to get better.Noticed she had marks on her eyes and found they are ulcers which he never looked at.He charged me 55 bloody euro didn't do a full examination,wrongly diagnosed the kitten and sent her home.Rang James over week ago,he never bothered to ring me back( i rang twice) over the wrongly diagnosed supposedly dying kitten after I questioned his diagnosis.I went to another vet in roscommon he said she had cat flu,listened to her chest,gave her tablets,injection,took her temperature, took blood to get serum to fix her eyes and charged me 31.50 and 30 of that was consultation fee. I'll never take any of my animals to james again,can't believe I let this man operate on my dog last year which could of been wrongly diagnosed and been nothingRead Less

My dog has been suffering a lot of pain from arthritis for quite some time now he was on three different types of painkiller but they were no longer effective. We went to James to see if there was anything else that could be done for him he had a course of injections for four weeks and there is some improvement he is never going to be pain free but his pain has most definitely decreased and he loves to see James and his staff. This place is a joke your ment to help animals weather their stray or not, your more worried about getting money before you even think about helping, a poor stray little kitten attacked badly hurt and you wouldn't boder your whole to help, by law your ment to take animals and help them weather they have a home or not and just because this animal didn't you wouldn't you rather let an innocent animal die, I will never bring an animal to you your useless and heartless and believe me I'll be spreading the word of how cruel you are, thanks to another vet they had no bother helping the kitten that's someone who has a heart and certainly does not care about money because their doing what they love which is animals unlike you, you'll get no luck for it Read Less

So today we brought one of our roosters to the vets, very happy, something we thought was un fixable, turns out to be fairly easy fixed. Two injections later and he's on the way back to recovery :) would definitely recommend this vet. Read Less

Although we have to travel a good distance we choose crandara because James and his team are superb, caring, thoughtful and genuine. The standard of grooming is superb. cannot recommend crandara highly enough. James looks after our 3 precious canines and flock of hens with good humour and compassion. Read Less
