Animal Hospital Kilcoole

Kilcoole, Co Wicklow
General Info
Kilcoole Vets is a specialised small animal veterinary practice. The clinic opened at the beginning of March 2009. Kilcoole Vets is owned and run by veterinary surgeon Gail Nic Eoghain and veterinary nurse/behaviourist Shane Mc Dermott. Both had worked in veterinary practice for over ten years before establishing their own clinic. As lifelong pet owners themselves they share a vision of a companion animal hospital providing exemplary patient care and client service. Kilcoole Vets strives to embody that vision.
After inspection by the Veterinary Council of Ireland, the premises have been accredited as a Registered Veterinary Hospital. Under the practice accreditation scheme this is the highest level attainable.
The practice is located in the Whitethorn Centre in Kilcoole village (beside Tesco) and has ample free parking on its doorstep. On entering their bright and spacious reception and waiting area you will be welcomed by friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. To accommodate their clients’ busy schedules, Kilcoole Vets offers convenient opening hours: 8:30 am to 7pm (8pm Monday & Thursday) and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. A dedicated emergency service is provided outside those hours
A comprehensive range of health care services are provided under one roof for all small animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, small furry pets, birds and reptiles. Kilcoole Vets tailors a health care programme for each pet, through every stage of their life.

We came here for an emergency last Nov with our then 20 year old cat, Amber. Gail and her team have got to know us pretty well ever since. Their care and empathy has been heartwarming. We have lost 3 of our animals since. Our 21 year old cat, Amber, our 14 year old dog, Sophie and this morning our mystery male cat OC, we reckon he was about 16. Passing with dignity is so important to us. Gail, Shane and their team ensured that for our family. Gails house visit made us all so much more at ease with saying goodbye to our oldest and dearest friend. We will remember her forever for that. It has been such a sad aquaintance, but, one we'll definitely keep with any more furry friends in our care. I will recommend Kilcoole Animal Hospital to all. Thanks to you all for the care you have shown us all in the past few months x Read Less

My dog Boo can't wait to bound through the doors to see Gail, Shane and the team, no matter how unwell she is her tail wiggles and wags the whole of her visit. And my cat Buzz always enjoys his visits too, and he gets to board sometimes upstairs in the cattery, he's always content and happy when we pick him up. Gail and Shane have shown such compassion to us and our animals I can't imagine having pets without their help. Thanks to both of them and all the staff ;) Read Less

Just had a friend try persuade me to move to her vet which is closer to my house and it made me realise how good you guys are. I think I'd follow you to the ends of the earth. Once you find a vet that treats your pets the way you want the idea of going elsewhere is madness. Gail, Shane and the gang really can't be beat with incredible facilities and the gentle care that only comes from a real love for your patients and dedication to your job.
