Been going here for a few years now and I love it because they have an actually holistic approach to veterinary medicine. They'll use western/allopathic medicine when it's the best option but also use homeopathic remedies and naturopathic remedies when it's the best option or they'll use a mixture of both. I know there aren't a lot of flattering scientific reviews on homeopathy but I don't know what to tell you because the treatments have always worked wonderfully for my cats! Brett, who owns the practice, picked up on some great alternative veterinary treatments while travelling overseas and working in conservation with wild animals in Africa that he really liked that he has incorporated into his treatments because he had seen evidence of them working well. So it's good to keep an open mind because sometimes people can show you a different way of doing things medically that you wouldn't have been taught at uni that you can incorporate into your ever growing database of medical knowledge. The more treatment options you are aware of - the more wealth of choice you have to choose from if one or many remedies may not work.
What's also great is that Brett and his vet nurse who works there aren't hardcore into natural treatments and tell you that basically everything you're feeding your cat or other pet is bad for them like some people who are into natural treatments. They're all about being holistic and their opinion is that it's OK to feed your cat milk or cheese sometimes as long as it's in moderation whereas even vets who only practice western/allopathic veterinary medicine will tell you that you should NEVER feed these to your cats. Cats want treats every so often just like humans do! Donuts may not be very good for us but it'd be a very sad life without them!

Both me and my family have been taking our family pets to Brett for years but have noticed over the last couple of years the custome service and standards have slowly been getting worse. The last time I took my cat there she was very sick and I was sent home and told to try to force feed her over the weekend and if she is not feeling better by Monday bring her back in. I followed their advice but later that day I could see my girl was still in a bad way so I took her to another vet. When I arrived they asked what took me so long to get her into the vet she was in critical condition and need to be hospitalised and kept on IV as she was in deaths bed. Angry that I had to see my cat suffer in this way I contacted Lincoln road vet and asked why they didn't pick this up and they replied in a very abusive many that they are not open weekends and could offer that service. If I had of followed there advise my cat would have suffered a great deal and would have died before the weekend was up. The reception staff were rude, abusive, threatening to say the least. i will never return to this vet ever again and deffinatly would subject my pets to that torture.

My cat is docile by breed, but has a record for stressing out and attacking other vets. One grooming place decided to groom cats as well as dogs but decided to close that down once they groomed my cat...
My cat is docile by breed, but has a record for stressing out and attacking other vets. One grooming place decided to groom cats as well as dogs but decided to close that down once they groomed my cat cause she attacked them. However with Brett she acts like a child on her best behavior.
I also got told she needed all her teeth removed to solve her gum problems and Brett recommended me a safer, preventative treatment.

I was so sad to see Best Scrub's strange review. Brett at Henderson Vet is the most honest and most caring Vet I have ever encountered. Ok his clinic may not be shiny and glitzy like other City Vets...
I was so sad to see Best Scrub's strange review. Brett at Henderson Vet is the most honest and most caring Vet I have ever encountered. Ok his clinic may not be shiny and glitzy like other City Vets and he is shy and quiet. But he has an incredible way of working with animals and observing them. He also does not charge like other Vets and always tries to come up with a solution that is not expensive. I am forever grateful for his care of my 7 year old Golden Retriever, whose cruciate ligament broke 2 years ago. Brett successfully operated 2 years ago and she is still running around like a puppy today.

We are very happy with the "amazing vet". I do wonder what Best Scrub expects in customer service? Surely the customer is the pet, if they could speak I'm sure they would be happy. How can you rate a 2 when you rate the vet "amazing". That alone should be a 3.
This is why I am reviewing, normally wouldn't but cheap shots like this from Best Scrub
This tells us more about Best Scrub than Henderson Vet's.
We recommend them to all our friends with pets. If you need a second opinion definitely look for alternatives. Try them you'll like them.

Brett is an amazing vet but their customer service leaves you out in the cold. I have never dealt with a clinic who makes you feel like your animals are not important to them but the staff at henderson valley do a great job of that. If they acted like they cared at all I would take all my animals there, but when your beloved friends are sick you want to go somewhere you feel welcome and that they have time for you. Vets are expensive and customer service and a caring nature is key even when just dealing with reception. It's a shame because Brett is a top vet but every time I have had any dealings with his clinic I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. Feel unwelcome to even call and ask questions about services.

Brett is an amazing vet but their customer service leaves you out in the cold. I have never dealt with a clinic who makes you feel like your animals are not important to them but the staff at henderson valley do a great job of that. If they acted like they cared at all I would take all my animals there, but when your beloved friends are sick you want to go somewhere you feel welcome and that they have time for you. Vets are expensive and customer service and a caring nature is key even when just dealing with reception. It's a shame because Brett is a top vet but every time I have had any dealings with his clinic I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. Feel unwelcome to even call and ask questions about services.
