FAQs:
CAN WE PARK AT THE CLINIC?
Yes, off-street parking is available, but please only turn right into the clinic due to the angle of the driveway. Vans or vehicles with roof-racks should park on the road due to the entrance cover. We endeavour to make access as easy as possible and frequently water blast the driveway.
HOW DO WE ENTER THE CLINIC?
Please press the doorbell for service, since we sometimes do not hear the door knocker and don't wish to miss seeing you.
DOES THE CLINIC HAVE A NURSE?
Yes, we have caring veterinary nursing staff who assist with surgery, although they may not always be present at medical consultations.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
We do not usually give quotes of costs over the phone, but we do provide estimates AT consultation or prior to admission for procedures (a deposit is required prior to major surgical procedures). We can also usually match other quotes that are reasonable :)
HOW DO WE PAY?
Eftpos, cash, or by bank transfer on your mobile device AT consultation, but not credit card. We now operate by a deposit system to book for surgical procedures, due to the theatre and other preparation required.
CAN YOU DO X-RAYS, SURGERY, ANESTHESIA and BLOOD TESTS?
Yes, all of these procedures, if required, are done AT the clinic. We do all of our own blood tests 'in-house', which means they are available after-hours and at the weekend, and have recently installed new safer isofluorane anesthesia and digital x ray equipment.
HOW SHOULD WE TRANSPORT OUR PETS INTO THE CLINIC?
Please have your cat in a secure modern cage and support it underneath, since cages can burst apart when carried by the handle. Large dogs must be on a short lead escorted by an adult person, and small dogs should be carried into the clinic. Multiple large dogs must be brought into the clinic one at a time, but otherwise should remain in a closed vehicle.
HOW DO WE COLLECT OUR PET AFTER SURGERY?
We ask that pets brought in for surgery are picked up by the same owner that dropped them off to ensure the best communication of post operative care and for legal protection of all involved.
DO YOU TREAT ALL ANIMAL SPECIES?
Yes, we love all of the pets! All creatures great and small :)
ARE YOU CARING?
Yes, we care for and love all of the pets and always handle them gently. We will also always be polite and obtain your consent before any treatment or surgery.
CAN YOU PERFORM A CESARIAN SECTION ON A GUINEA PIG?
Yes, the surgical principles for very small mammals are exactly the same as for regular companion animals, and our vet has undertaken extra postgraduate training (by examination at ANZCVS) in companion animal surgery, so you are in excellent hands :)
