Here at Carevets, we have a passion for helping people care for their pets. Each branch of the Carevets group is either a Veterinary Clinic or has a Veterinary Clinic onsite owned by the directors of the company, making us unique in New Zealand. Our staff are qualified as pet carers, Veterinary Nurses, groomers and of course, Veterinarians, so you and your pets are in the best of hands when you visit. We are constantly growing and expanding our stores and clinics, ensuring that we bring you the best products and services at very competitive prices. Our Mission is to “satisfy and delight our customers each and every time.” With this in mind, no request from our customers is too great for our talented team. If we don’t have a particular product that you are looking for, just ask us and we will do our best to get it for you. Read more about our Mission, Vision and Philosophy here. The Carevets group has been operating in New Zealand since 2008, under the direction of Drs Keith Houston, Alistair Kirkby and Mr Nick Cooper. From the time the Carevets group began, we have wanted to do our part in giving back to the community. As a result of this, we have set up the Carevets Foundation, a not for profit Charitable Trust to ensure that pets are cared for no matter what.

well i've had a very uncomfortable experience at this vet.. While the actual vet who tended to my dog was brilliant and I can not fault him in any way, there was another staff member who made mine and the friend who was helping me, experience absolutely awful. And because of Alicia we will be looking for a new vet as soon as possible. My dog unfortunately has the tendency to bark at unfamiliar faces however is completely harmless and rather small, this woman straight away backed into a corner and shook her head at me and my friend, she did not say a single word, or crack a smile. She did not try to engage with my dog, instead scaring her even more. No hello, or helpful guidance. Instead acted as if she had never seen an animal before in her life. Every time she would come back into the waiting room where i was paying for my pet's visit she would throw dirty looks and generally looked disgusted. I have never in my life experienced this kind of discrimination or been made to feel so awful by someones non-verbal abusive communication. I have left a message to complain but surprise no contact has been made to offer an apology or explanation for the horrendous way this so called 'vet' has acted. My poor friend felt so threatened by this woman she refused to go back there... I see she has only been working at the clinic for less than a year and in my opinion that is too long. The sheer incompetence we had to witness and experience was frightening and I would be mortified if she were the one helping my pet as i believe she would refuse care to any animal who were barking or what have you. She of all people should understand that when animals are hurt and scared in unfamiliar places, one can only but try to calm the situation. Not attack the owner with non verbal cues. Now i am disgusted in her and highly offended. Read Less

Vet Joan advised me over the phone that my cat needed to be put down - took him to another vet for a second opinion and was told that he was nowhere near that point full life, just an ear infection due to Joan not having removed his polyp properly. Had a simple operation with new vet and is better than ever. Poor communication, unfair treatment, wouldn't tell me accurate costs. First operation he had there ended up being nearly double the price quoted. I have found a great vet in Abbott's Way

A wonderfully caring team, affordable prices and good service. Called midweek to see if they could schedule in a rabbit desexing before weekend. They did, I had to arrive early between 7.30/8.30am. I brought my 2 bunnies in to ensure the correct one was going to be desexed, they took the time to show me the males sexual organs which the rabbit is good at hiding by pulling them inwards to "keep safe". The manager, offered to keep the female for the day as company for the other and I was reassured of the safety of this for the operated male rabbit. A nice considerate touch. They informed me of all costs upfront. I happily left both their in an unlined ( as my rabbits chew/eat newspaper and paper towelling) transport crate as my rabbit(s) were not allowed breakfast before surgery. They called me immediately after it was completed and when I returned to fetch them in the afternoon at my leisure, I found that it was well lined with newspaper and filled with heaps of fresh hay and even freshly picked dandelions! My rabbit has very neatly stitched incisions and was up and hopping about happily a few hours post surgery. Pain meds and a hard copy of complete care and advice instructions were given. And even little take home "gift" bags for my 3 & 4 year old daughters. I decided it best to keep the pair together for one more night, indoors. Just to encourage eating and healing. They have now been separated for another 3 more weeks due sue the viable semen still present in tubes post surgery. Thank so much for your 100% compassion to my furry family members and affordable prices! I will be recommending your care to anyone seeking it. Read Less
