I just wanted to say a big thank you to Peninsula Bay Vet for their compassion and support today. It's the second time I've been in there recently with my 13 year old cat Bacardi, whose condition has steadily gotten worse over the past couple of months. As initial treatment helped only very temporarily, I unfortunately had to make the hard decision to let him be at peace because of the quality of life had seriously declined for him. Both the vet and assistant talked us through options before hand. They were very caring, didn't rush us, let us sit with Bacardi in a quiet room and spend some time with him before they did the procedure, where Bacardi left the world with dignity and lots of love around him. It was a difficult time to let him go, but all I can say is thank you for making the last moments of my boy's life as comfortable as possible.Read Less

So disappointed in a vets that was recommended to us. My dog was brought in last Friday suffering with chronic sickness and diarrhoea. We had already done the statutory 48 hours starvation. Yet he was still vomiting etc. he was looked over and sent away with oral antibiotics, even though he was keeping nothing down. We returned a second time that day due to him vomiting a further 6 times.... Nothing was done, except an anti nausea jab. No blood tests, no fluids, nothing. Again, we were sent home. We woke Saturday morning to what only I can describe as a horror scene, he was haemorrhaging. We called you, to be told the vet was in the shower and wouldn't arrive till 10am even though it was an emergency. We kept him as stable as we could until 10 am where we left him in what we thought were capable hands? Only to be called to say that you closed at 1pm and he had to be collected or we could leave him over night but with no care. We arrived to pick him up, as we weren't comfortable leaving him, to find him in his crate soaked in blood and diarrhoea, we had to ACTUALLY ask for clean pads in his cage, you were happy to hand him over still haemorrhaging and soaked in poo? We then took him to the animal A&E, by this time his eyes were rolling and were told he needed a blood transfusion. He was literary dying! You were happy to leave him on his own over night? It took two bags of Iv anti biotics and TWO bags of fluids before he was stabilised. And FIVE minutes for them to take blood tests AND give us the results. Yet you guys did neither of those in TWO ENTIRE DAYS!!!!Read Less
