General Info
The practice is supported by two Vets and four Qualified Veterinary Nurses, you won't see a different vet every single time you come in.
We believe in investing in qualified, experienced and knowledgeable staff with a high focus on client and animal care. All staff are encouraged to partake in continued professional development to keep us up to play with all latest developments in the veterinary field.
Our hospital is purpose built with your pet in mind and comprises a 250 m2 treatment area. Our patient wards are low noise and comfortable and do not resemble prison cells! We have 2 sterile air filtered, operating theatres.
The Mount Vet Hospital also provides a Mobile Vet Service for your convenience and greatly reduced stress for your pet using an animal ambulance for on-site consultations, operations, dentals and blood tests. The nurses also run mobile nurse clinics.

Wonderful service! We unfortunately had to stop in on Waitangi Day, and organise a vet after hours call out. Both staff members involved went out of their way to make our pup feel happy and comfortable, and they made a follow up phone call in 2 days time to check in and see how he was doing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others, thank you!

We took our 12 month rehomed dog Bear to be neutered and he received great care. On our return visit to have his stitches removed the vet took the time to give us advise on training our boistrous boy....

Owen at Mount Vet Hospital was our saving grace when we called him on a Sunday afternoon regarding an awful incident that had happened to a little puppy. Owens passion, love and care for the pup was unbelievable and had absolute faith in his expertise. Followed up reassuring us the next day in regards to the health of the pup and how he was doing. We like Mount Vet so much we joined Facebook just so we could come and tell everyone. When we were little, we got to know them really well at their puppy parties, where we (and our human) learned heap...
We like Mount Vet so much we joined Facebook just so we could come and tell everyone. When we were little, we got to know them really well at their puppy parties, where we (and our human) learned heaps and had lots of fun. Now we love visiting for annual check ups. We always get a big hello from the nurses and we like the vet. He usually sticks needles into us, but his liver treats are extra yum. At times we've come rushing in very sick and/or in pain and oh boy have they gone the extra mile for us. They really know how to help us and that hospital is pretty high tech. Our human says they also took wonderful care of the two geriatric cats she belonged to before we got her. Anyway, enough from us. Gotta dash - it's dinner time!

Wonderful team at Mount Vet Hospital who went the extra mile for my dog who sustained a pretty complicated eye injury at New Years whilst we were on Holiday. Pleased to say our dog has recovered with minimal damage to his eye. Our local vet was very complimentary of the work Jorg and his team performed. Thank you all so much. Highly recommend these guys for their professionalism and care.

Cheapest and best service in town!!! Couldn't believe the price difference between the vets in Tauranga and these guys were the cheapest. Desexed my two kittens and it couldn't have gone more smoothly...

Desexed my two kittens and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. Great information from the vet nurses too, answered all my annoying questions!!! Highly recommend!!!!!

I know he is the better for not having to be sedated, as we have had to do in the past, just to do his nails. Nothing like a grumpy old man to deal with! Glad you had your gloves too.... I am sorry to have not written this sooner, but the care you gave Jasper was fantastic too. And Louie again, when he was so sick in January. Since we changed to you we have had the best service, care and empathy.

I would recommend Mount Vets to anyone and everyone, We had our cat Jazzi go through 3 lots of surgeries due to a cat bite, They are so amazingly awesome, If it was not for their generosity I would not have Jazzi with us as I could not afford to spend anymore on her, they dropped the price on her last surgery by so much that she was able to have it, They were always calling and letting me know how things were going, and days on end that I visited with Jazzi so they could take her temp and give her antibiotics with no extra charge nearly 7 weeks on our Jazzi was finally able to go outside Woohoo. I could go on and on about the amazing love, care and generosity we received from the whole team. Thankyou so very much Jorg and Inga words are just not enough. and of course all you lovely ladies who looked after my baby xxxxx Thank you Mel x
