A few weeks ago our 9 month old kitten was injured. We took her Levin and Horowhenua Veterinary and they took amazing care of her. Unfortunately, even after her receiving top notch care, we had to make the hard decision to let her go. We have 6 cats + have fostered kittens at various times and regularly are at vets with one or other of them - use our local vet usually (which have an account with), but with our eldely cat we used this vet. Inconveniently located for us but we'd had such great service a few years back with this cat there we decided to continue to take her there when a problem developed recently. Have been a few visits recently and paid on day of visit. Found them much more expensive than our local vet but no other complaints until latest visit when were treated like a criminal because asked - in an emergency treatment needed situation that couldn't wait - if could hold off paying bill for 2 days until payday. Despite recent and no problems at all record of visits with them was quizzed about employment and other personal info and told would have debt collectors after us if not paid in full in 2 days. Also after pre arranging for drop off of cat only by phone (due to needing to get to a disabled client and no time for consult at vet beforehand) - was held up for 40 mins there before allowed to leave. We won't be back. This cat will now join our others at our local vets for any remaining treatment needed. Read Less

My dog was attacked by a pitbull, he had no visible wounds so thought nothing of it. He was a bit shaken up so we took care of him and made sure he was okay. However, a few days later his face started to swell up. He is the first dog our family have had and so we were very concerned and worried about his well-being so of course I booked an appointment at the closest vet. During my consultation, I felt belittled and disrespected by what she said and how she approached me and our situation. She pretty much blamed me for my dogs swollen face saying I should have came straight away to prevent the infection. She was very abrupt when talking to me and didn't even bother to educate me on what actually happened. Ultimately I was given the impression by her that I'm not capable of caring for our dog. I will not be taking our dog to that vet anymore, and I wouldn't not recommend this vet to anyone else I know. Read Less

Terrible.. I went here to get my cat looked at for his teeth, the vet told me he needed a couple of teeth out and it would cost up to $800 (or possibly more) for the operation after a brief look at his teeth. I called two other vets one in this area and one in the Wairarapa who said this price was appalling. I have today seen another vet in Levin (clearly with a lot more experience than the young guy I saw here). The cats teeth are fine and he actually has a very common Ulcer under his tongue that needs to be treated with steroids and AB's, all up costing $115.00 for treatment and exam including urine testing. I also am aware of another person having a similar experience being quoted $2000 for an unnecessary amputation that was resolved by another vet in the area with cage rest. What a rip off !!! I would NOT recommend this clinic to anyone in the Levin area... Read Less
