We know your pet is a loved and important member of your family, and that you want them to enjoy a long and happy life. Our veterinarians and nurses provide the highest level of care whilst treating every pet with dignity and compassion.
The hospital has been designed to make your pet's visit as comfortable as possible. Just as we don't always like going to the doctor, we know that pets don't always like going to the vets! Our waiting room is light and spacious with separate dog and cat wards so your pet can recuperate in comfort.
Our vets will discuss treatment options, provide transparent pricing and explain clinical plans, so you can make an informed choice about the treatment your pet receives.

My cat has been banned from a couple of vets in her life time. The previous vets located in Riccarton had poorly handled her and didnt believe me when i said she doesnt like being handle...

My cat has been banned from a couple of vets in her life time. The previous vets located in Riccarton had poorly handled her and didnt believe me when i said she doesnt like being handled. Then got attacked by my girl and they blamed her and banned us.
At hornby they handle her so well that shes not stressed out or angry. Susan the lady I ask for every time is amazing. She cares about my cat and for months now has helped us as we take this Journey through cancer. I recommend this vet to everyone I know. I dont think that they are over priced. They are pretty fair prices. Everyone needs to remember Vets do not get any finacial help from the government. I will always come back to this vet they have a loyal client in me.

Absolutely love these guys. I have been taking my wee Chihuahua to them from a puppy. And she has needed surgery on her back legs to correct her knee caps. They are just so caring and amazing at keeping me informed all the way through the process and what treatment my pup has needed. Definately recommend these guys to anyone looking for a vet. So caring. We've been with Hornby Vet for 17 years. Just had to euthanize our cat and they were so compassionate and understanding. Looked after our cat very well, ensuring the right course of action for ills and spills. Even sent a sympathy card. The next generation of our furry friends will be coming to this practice. They love our pets as much as we do.

I have been going to Pauline at Hornby vet for nearly 10 years with my animals (2 dogs 2 cats ) and have always had great treatment for my pets. In fact when I was very ill a few years ago and my cat was hospitalised for an extended period of time for a broken leg Pauline took him to her own home to care for him as I was not well enough to look after him.
