I genuinely could not fault their service and care ❤️ I truly believe they saved my cats life and is the reason she is still here today. Transferred last minute from St Kilda and Morning vets, where we had the most awful experience. To start, they fit us in on a public holiday, last minute and we’re able to do it very quickly. The reception staff have ALWAYS been amazingly empathetic, kind and caring. Marry-Anne has been a reliable voice on the end of the phone and is just as lovely in person. We were seen and looked after by a variety of different vets and vet nurses, and every single one of them have been great. Accomodating, kind and genuinely caring about the animals they are looking after. There was a bit of a mishap with a nasogastric tube and not being given a cone to prevent her from pulling it out, HOWEVER, it was dealt with professionally, appropriately and we were apologised to and had some fees waived. There was a big staff meeting about it and Bella’s case in general and some things were clarified and cleared up to prevent it from happening in the future. Unfortunately mishaps and mistakes happen, but we are all only human. It was dealt with in the best possible way. We were kept informed the whole time during Bella’s time with them and were contacted regularly, given in depth information on her care, administration of medication and were always given ample time for questions. The locum vet Delwyn took us under her wing and was honestly the saving grace of Bella and the reason she is still here today. We are so sad that she has moved to Rangiora, we will miss you and I’m sure the staff will too! They have gained an amazing vet and are lucky to have her 🙂 We currently are under Michelle and have only seen her once, but I am super happy with her and we will continue to keep her as our main vet. Today, Bella is a chonky, vocal and healthy cat, back to her normal self and happier than ever. Her recent blood results came back NORMAL which shocked everyone and she is doing even better than expected, especially because she is almost 11 years old and was in kidney failure when she first came to Humanimals. Thank you so much, Bella, Helen and Jessie ❤️🐾 Read Less

We have been with humanimals for so long it's been through a couple of different names. I absolutely love the service and respect we get each and every time. My 3yo son just had his female kitty batman spayed a couple of weeks back and she healed in no time was up being the naughty cat she is the very next morning. Last year they also arranged for my beautiful pure breed Persian to be cremated after she was attacked and killed by a nasty dog I had her for 16 years nearly and they offered great support and they offered their great service. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Read Less

We had to get our Guinea Pig put down today and I was recommended to go to Humanimals. We do not have a vet as our guinea pigs are always well. I was extremely disappointed with the service. The vet did not speak with me before our pet was put down and all my comments were relayed by the receptionist to the vet. After our guinea pig was dead I asked for it to be left there for my friend to pick up within and hours or so as it would upset my 11 year old too much to have it at home. They then passed me the cage back with the guinea pig in it and said it was against their policy to keep the pets there after being put to sleep as I wasn't their client. Given that I just paid as a client I feel that this was extremely odd and insensitive. All my contact details were given to them before I paid for the service. I asked to talk to the Vet and she didn't budge with the 'policy' and said that if I had a problem with it that I had to talk to the normal vet there. I can say that I will never use your services again, nor recommend to anyone else. Sometimes common sense and sensitivity should be put ahead of 'policies'. I asked to see the policy and they said that these were "locked up out the back of the shop". I would like an explanation and an apology. This is not how you treat customers.Read Less

Couldn't rave more about the wonderful care and great service at Humanimals. We took our very very sick kitten to see them over New Years, as they were the first vet that answered the phone. We couldn't have got luckier with our choice of vet. They saw us straight away, gave our little puss the best care, and our vet (Alistair) called me himself every few hours to give us an update on how our baby was doing. We know we were very lucky to be able to bring her home with us, and I credit that to the wonderful care she received at Humanimals. Read Less

It's sad that I even gave one star! Fantastic to have a vets open 24/7, but that's it. After 24hrs of our lil bulldog having diarrhoea, we took him to humanimals to get checked out. Quick injection and keep an eye on him, $200. Three days later, he's getting worse, advised to bring him back. They keep him in for day to take stole sample, gave us pills, $250 not even a vet come out to tell us anything when we picked him up. Two days later and no change no results. We rang vets who told us results came back clear....... They didn't even test for what they told us they thought it was. Giardia! One week gone and our lil man is looking about 50% definitely on the mend, but no thanks to humanimals! No communication! We are still waiting for phone calls! Absolutely terrible service and we will not be recommending them to anybody, in fact we will be advising against using humanimals as a vet clinic. So so disappointed!!Read Less

As soon as our fur baby Archie came home from being missing for 3 days, we realised there was something clearly wrong. Rang humanimals and got thru straight away, and we're told bring him in asap. When we got there they were waiting for us, the vet said he had more than likely been hit by a car as his tail was very limp and he was leaking bloody urine. We were absoluetly gutted but weren't giving up hope. On visiting the next day were were gutted to see what they had expressed out of his bladder, bloody urine and the X-ray showed he had been hit higher, so therefore the outlook was grim. After weeks of visiting we began to feel like family there, we were encouraged to visit him daily, which we gladly did. The veterinarians and vet nurses were fault less, always made us feel welcome, we're happy to answer many questions, we were updated daily on his condition. Archie will now have been at home for a month tomorrow and what he has accomplished since coming home from humanimals after two weeks is amazing, he is pretty much doing everything right, not quite 100% but we're very sure he will get there with time. His shaved patches are now growing back nicely and hes eating, pooping great, his peeing is still not perfect but again with time were sure he will get there, his fur is shining and he has the sparkle in his eye. Thanks so much to all the vetenarians expecially Jeff and Alistair for taking such good care of Archie, treating him like he was your own, going the extra mile, answering questions, and all the vet nurses especially Sara, Victoria and Krystal his private nurses lol for always going the extra mile, answering questions and making us feel welcome. Highly recommend this veterinary clinic in South Dunedin. We have been patients of this vet for around 4 years after they provided excellent after hours emergency care for our german wiredhair pointer, Tyr. The reception and nursing staff are friendly and professional, and Drs. Alistair, Alison, Jeff, and Michelle are extremely knowledgable and passionate in their work. The clinic also provided us compassionate care and support to the very end when our beloved dog became terminally ill. We are very grateful and will definitely be back once we get another dog, thank you again for your amazing work. Read Less

Heres a real review..... The first time my little buddy patches wad hurt he needed surgery to repair his femur he was loved by all there and treated very kindly. After the incident he was to scared to go near the road again unfortunately a feral cat in the area tried really hurting him causing him to run on the road to avoid it and a small elderly couple hit him and took him to the vet this time he was seen by the old male surgeon who did not check him over properly not even so much as an xray to be sure the male vet assured me he would be fine and I could likely take him home within the next couple of days. Patches never made it home...his organs had been pushed into his chest and by the time they realised what they shouldve known if they had done the xray in the beginning then surgery would have saved him again. When the surgeon said he had to be put down he was not at all warm towards me, like it was just another animal. I was not even allowed to be in the room when he took his final breath so I never got to say goodbye, he then handed me my baby in a bag and I went home I miss patches so very much and this quiet neighborhood wouldve been perfect for him. Humanimals I hope you are kinder to others and there pets than you were to mine. Perhaps stop hounding people to pay there money before the due date and maybe try thanking them for paying when your grieving the death of a loved one you dont need harassed.Read Less
