$88 to microchip a puppy. Used to be a decent vet now just a money maker. Will not be going back.

We have been going to the Kilbirnie vet for years but won't be again that's for sure. I called in there with my son today as his dog Kara had a small wound on her leg. He asked for someone to just take a quick look at it - we did not ask to see the vet. The receptionist said the vet was between appointments so we went into the room where he looked at it and told us it was a graze and to use some savlon on it. My son then asked if the vet could look at the dew claw they had operated on the week before which he did and said looked fine. The whole thing took a couple of minutes - after we left the room he wrote up some notes not sure why given it was only a graze he didn't treat. There had been no discussion about what this cost but as it quite literally took a couple of minutes I wasn't expecting much but I got charged $56! When my husband went back to try and talk to them about it the most senior person there wouldn't even come out and talk to him. Carevets has turned a good vet service into a money maker that doesn't give a damn about customers. BEWARE. Read Less
