I wanted to give 1 star because I feel like they low key killed our Min but thats me just being upset- 3.5 is more fair.
Honestly if you have a sick cat please ask for the experienced vets like Ciara,Amber and Megan, and do not wait a day if any treatment doesn’t seem to be working.
Our cat Min had liver problems but due to the fact the first vet (I won't name them) did no tests and literally sent us away with a rando shot of antibiotic and a bag of royal food plus a “I’m not sure come back in a week or two” no advice, nothing; it was impossible to find exactly what was wrong as by the time a proper Vet saw her they were unable to do an ultrasound and do full treatment hampered by the failure of the first vet to test/find she had liver damage.
After that first visit, we went a full week watching and worrying about her eating less and now starting to become lethargic and she vomited so we called to get back in but reception said the X-ray was down and also the Vets note said 2-3weeks wait so it should be safe to wait a few more days and so we did, thinking just as the receptionist would too its not super serious (it was).
If the first Vet had done tests and full checks we wouldn’t have this overhanging ‘what if’ and it would be easier to accept her death, but now it feels like she wasn’t treated properly and has made her death way harder to deal with. The second vet got her tests done asap and she was hospitalised, treated at home (seemed to get slightly better) admitted for an overnight hospital where another Vet changed medication and did more tests but from that within 24hrs being home she tanked.
Having to put to sleep such a clever, sweet and spritely cat was unbearable we did all the treatment they had available hospitalisation & home care medications.
The care was slow and didn’t work but we at least felt Amber & Megan and the emergency Vet did what they could and cared although the rapid change of adding more medication seemed to be the death seal for poor min as within 24hrs of that she was a goner after sort of picking up at home.
Also if a Vet says ‘I don’t know’ during your appointment please ask them to go ask someone else who might have a clue.
Only slight positive is that they let her come home for a few hours and performed the procedure here. Our other cat got to lay around with her for a little bit, he seemed aware she was ill, but now she is gone is a different cat.
As for our other cat check ups and getting worming, flea treatments have always been good, also Ciara, Amber & Megan are actually lovely caring Vets. Read Less
