I adopted one of the puppies. It breaks my heart to see so many abandoned animals and wish I could do more. I believe that the team do excellent work with the limited funds and space they have.

I also don't understand why cell phones cannot be taken with, when viewing the animals? I suspect so that one cannot take pictures of the conditions? We visited the Springs SCPA, recently, on two occasions (some 2 weeks ago & +/- a month ago) - we were not very impressed with the cat enclosure (to say the least)! They are in a closed building with very little lighting, and no view to the outside world - its so dark in there that you cant even see the cats in the cages properly! They are kept apart in individual cages; and have absolutely no stimuli. On one of the days we visited, the cages were still wet from having being cleaned; with the cats still inside them (they are hosed out). In previous years the conditions were most definitely not like this - I almost want to advise people that if they pick-up stray cats, to take them to Brakpan SPCA rather ... and yes, I am aware of Springs SPCA's financial woes AND YES, I do personally donate to them on a monthly basis - BUT if they need additional help, or the original cattery enclosure needs repairs +++ then they need to appeal to the public for extra assistance! I urge others to visit the SPCA cattery and view the conditions for yourself!Read Less

Just went to SPCA SPRINGS, with a broken and disgusted heart I had to walk away. Poor animals are kept in a small cage, underfed and scared. Not to mention the circumstances they are living in. Before we went in we had to leave our phones at the reception and now I know why. The condition to adopt is to pay R600 with a inspection and if you have any other dogs, sorry you have to sterilise them with the dog you want to adopt.. Is there a way that I can report this to someone? Read Less

We came from Barberton in September and as always, ended up at the Springs SPCA. Ended up walking into a kennel and coming back home with two beautiful new furbabies thanks to Springs SPCA's awesome staff who arranged everything in record time. Their kennels are of the most well kept I have ever had the pleasure of seeing and all the animals are well taken care of, you can hear and see that the people who work there are animal lovers. Thank you for giving me renewed faith in humanity xx Read Less
