Unnecessary prolonged treatment and incorrect diagnosis of my pet Yoki by Dr Killian. I took my dog Yoki to Glenstantia Veterinarian Clinic because he was not well, he had stopped eating and had not had bowel movement for a day or two. Yoki was immediately admitted and treated for his symptoms. He was put on a drip, given laxatives and treated for a possible obstruction in his stomach. I was assured when phoning and visiting Yoki that he was getting better. I decided early on day four to get a second opinion from another Vet in the area and was told that an ultrasonography should have been done on day two. I immediately phoned Glenstantia Veterinarian Services regarding this and was told that Dr Killian would phone me back. Dr Killian phoned me back a few hours later and said he had arranged for an urgent ultrasonography to be done that afternoon at three. At three I was told that Yoki needed an emergency operation to remove an obstruction which was attached to a short piece of rope. Yoki was immediately taken to Valley Farm Animal Clinic for the emergency operation. Valley Farm Animal Farm however confirmed that there was no obstruction or a piece of rope in Yoki's stomach as per Dr Killian's diagnosis. This meant that the operation was done unnecessarily with unnecessary costs and stress. I contacted Dr Killian regarding this and he has in writing confirmed that he is not willing to discuss this with me any further. I have send him proof of the additional costs but he has declined to respond to my email. My personal experience is that the moment Dr Killian had to face the consequences of his incorrect diagnosis he declined any further communication. I am now also submitting a complaint to the Veterinarian Board for investigation. Read Less
