I've been reading some of the 1 star ratings and I'm amazed at the ignorance of people. Vets are expensive; always have been, always will be. But so are doctors and specialists. They're specialists for animals who can't talk and they've got to figure out what's wrong with them. Why should you not pay a premium for this? The first time I visited Fernridge was at the end of September to take in a stray who had visited us a couple of days in a row. After trying to determine where is owners were, with no luck, we decided to keep him. The first thing the receptionist recommended was getting pet insurance, which I wouldn't have considered had she not mentioned it. He's cost us a small fortune with all his procedures (and the insurance only kicks in from November) but the vet kept me informed of the costs and didn't charge for the daily checkup visits to inspect his wounds to ensure they were healing properly - clearly this is a vet who is trying to rip you off. Bottom line: Don't have pets if you're not willing to do whatever it takes for them to have a healthy, happy life!
The entire team at Fernridge are fantastic. I felt it the minute I walked into the practice. They care about your fur baby and anyone who says differently has no clue what they're talking about. I've experienced vets who don't communicate, who charge the earth and really don't care about the wellbeing of your pet and Fernridge is nothing like that. I'm glad I decided to take him there on that Tuesday morning and I'm thankful I've got one of the best teams looking after my new kitty. Read Less
