Worst experience ever. OUR Dog was extremely ill after getting out of the yard accidentally and eating garbage in a vacant plot. He stopped eating, drinking and was vomiting. Extremely dehydrated
This was the only Vet near by open on a Sunday. We went to them and it was all about money. Our boy was fully vaccinated and neuted a month before this buts she Wasn't happy with vaccine schedule bec we were delayed by 2 mths so she insisted on testing for PARVO virus. Test was negative. Then she says drip and antibiotics goes to computer before giving any other treatment gets price. Pay first before Dog is seen to. R2500 and 12 hours later ......no change on my dog. She asks for a further 2300 for another drip and xrays. We refuse as we say that we out of budget as we just spayed him and Wasn't prepared for this .... after she hears this she says that it's best we put our dog off to sleep. We were shocked as he was only 8mths old. We decided to pick him up n try SPCA.
In the interim we got hold of our Vet in Queensburgh Dr T Govender, who asked us to bring him inn immediately so he could try n assist. On explaining our predicament.....he said he will try n treat him as an out pt for severe gastritis n see what happens. My baby was given Injections and a replacement feed which we were asked to force feed him 30ml per hour Every hour and meds to stop vomiting. 12 hrs later of force feeding and some vomit our baby started to thrive. 16 hrs after his consultation with Dr G he was asking for food and back to his bubbly self although he was much lighter. To think that Chatsworth animal clinics was willing to kill him bec we couldn't afford to pay them mmediately. Didn't even offer us out pt care or a payments plan to save his life. No empathy just worried about COLLECTING CASH. She should be ashamed

SAVC NEEDS TO CLOSE DOWN CHATSWORTH ANIMAL CLINIC
They are absolutely pathetic to say the least! I do not understand how these vets are practicing here. They prescribed such high dosage of medication to my both my dogs that both ended up with renal failure! They failed to introduce the medication and do a follow up after a month to check if it agrees with the pet or not and us thinking they are professionals, we trusted their advice. I honestly believe the vet needs to lose her license and that places needs to be closed down. The SAVC needs to get involved nd seriously needs to review these cases as staff even admitted over the last five years there has been complaints from other dog owners. I pray you do not take your pet to this pathetic place!

Despite reading all the reviews, my husband and I were extremely skeptical about taking our babies there, however at that moment off seeing them absolutely sick, we knew we had to do almost anything to ensure they get help!!!
Firstly, we are absolutely grateful and thankful to every person who assisted us, both my baby's had contracted the parvo virus, my male Tec, who was 8 months and my female Nova, who was 10 weeks, we thought we were going to lose them as most dogs don't survive the parvo virus, every person at the animal clinic ensured that our baby's were extremely well taken care off, they were given the proper medication and drips, they were cleaned up and both my baby's survived and it's all thanks to you guys at the Chatsworth animal clinic..

Worst experience ever. They take no care when handling the animals. Their main goal Is to obtain the most money possible from unsuspecting customers. Took my dog there. He wasn't eating at all. They took x rays etc and charged me R5000 in total including a special bag of dog food that they said he would consume. Firstly he didn't consume that food either. Secondly they made me visit them 3 other times afterwards and the dog still isn't eating. I payed a total of R8000 to the vet. Pathetic. They've taken an oath and couldn't care less about the animals. If you care about your pets then the right thing to do would be to stay away from this clinic.

Very expensive and money first. Pick up and drop off pets is same as uber prices. Its not about the animals, all about money. They want money upfront before doing any surgery on a pet.

The vet on duty was utterly hopeless. Couldn't handle my nervous cat at all. So the cat was given only his vacs and his chipping had to be cancelled.

Absolutely useless. Took my dog there and the vet had made a generalised diagnosis and asked me to change his food, which wasn't cheap. Upon doing that my dogs condition did not improve, I called back...
Absolutely useless. Took my dog there and the vet had made a generalised diagnosis and asked me to change his food, which wasn't cheap. Upon doing that my dogs condition did not improve, I called back to say I need to see the vet again and I was told I would be charged for a consult again although it was them who had made an incorrect diagnosis! Plus they had charged me R1000 for a consult and antibiotics. The vet pushes items like tick and flea control on you although your dog is on a prevention medication. It's overly priced especially for the crappy service you receive. I personally believe that the vets here just want to diagnosis your pet with the worse possible illness to get you to fork out more money.
This isn't the first horrible experience I've had. I had sent my dog to get neutered here a few years ago and these useless vets did not do a pre-examination to check for pre-exisisting conditions and decided to put him under GA and although he wasn't taking to the GA the first time they had continued to put him under again which resulted in his death. Moreover they charged me for the anesthesia which was R900, and gave me a dead dog!
If you love your pet and want the utmost best for them please refrain from taking them here.

After Dr Rambally stopped coming through I'm not very satisfied with the service I personally have an issue with a specific vet who is there most of the time when I need to bring Champ through, unfortunately champ is used to the surrounding so forced to keep coming. Would really like for Dr Rambally to start coming through again. She was passionate about the fur babies unlike some of the vets that remain.

Despite reading all the reviews, my husband and I were extremely skeptical about taking our babies there, however at that moment off seeing them absolutely sick, we knew we had to do almost anything to ensure they get help!!!
Firstly, we are absolutely grateful and thankful to every person who assisted us, both my baby's had contracted the parvo virus, my male Tec, who was 8 months and my female Nova, who was 10 weeks, we thought we were going to lose them as most dogs don't survive the parvo virus, every person at the animal clinic ensured that our baby's were extremely well taken care off, they were given the proper medication and drips, they were cleaned up and both my baby's survived and it's all thanks to you guys at the Chatsworth animal clinic..

After Dr Rambally stopped coming through I'm not very satisfied with the service I personally have an issue with a specific vet who is there most of the time when I need to bring Champ through, unfortunately champ is used to the surrounding so forced to keep coming. Would really like for Dr Rambally to start coming through again. She was passionate about the fur babies unlike some of the vets that remain.
