INCOMPETENCE AND UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTISE AND BEING IN HUMANE Their negligence led to the death of our dog with the selfish unethical business acumen. If the old man was present then our dog would have still been alive. The VET that helped us on 18 March 2024 did a PAVLOV Test and the test came back negative as per the VET. She put the dog on a two-hour drip and gave the dog medication. My daughter fetched the dog at 18h00 based on their instructions. We only realized that this was the closing time, and they risk the dog's health even further and still take R3100 and could not do what was supposed to be done. On arrival at the VET she informed that the dog has improved, and we were relieved. however, once arrived home we saw the dog was not responding and rushed the dog to the 24-hour Tygerberg Animal Hospital. They were baffled and shocked that the dog was not put on a drip until she was stabilized and even the charges of KUILSRIVER DIEREKLINIEK WAS HIGH. KUILSRIVER DIEREKLINIEK WAS SUPPOSSED TO REFER US TO A HOSPITAL SINCE THE DOGS CONDITION DID NOT IMPROVED HOWEVER THEY FALSELY MISLEAD US BY SAYING THE DOG IMPROVED. Read Less

I am in absolute regret, taking my dog to this place for surgery!!! They have no empathy for animals!!! All the staff including Dr's are just there doing a job to receive their salaries. It's just about the money. My dog had ear surgery, 15 stitches later, he shook the poorly bandaged ear plaster right off as leaving the entrance, blood everywhere, no painkillers, bandages or no anti-inflammatory were given. To them it was a joke. The Dr has the audacity to tell me it's not his fault i have such a huge dog. I was livid with the treatment we received at this place. After 3 weeks, and after me standing up for my dog, then I was given painkillers and ointments - three weeks after surgery. Which was quite a penny. This place is just about the money, no empathy for animals. Read Less

I am disgusted; a vet needs to have compassion for animals; this vet is only in it for the money. It seems like he performed surgery without even cleaning the wonds and on top of that he stitched the wonds with no shaving of hair allowing bacteria to get into the blood stream; thus decreasing his change of survival. He prolonged my dogs suffering only to pocket R5000. If he was honest with us and explained the severity of wonds; i would have rather put him down than let him suffer. I had to rush him to another vet 3 o clock in the morning. They we also very surprised in the state of the wonds and the way the surgery was performed by Dr Thom. I will obtain a detailed report for all four veterinary doctors who examined him and can confirm the poor state in which we received our dog back from doctor Thom I will submit the report including foto's; to the SAVC. Sure this will not bring my dog back; but this might pevent future incidents. My dog was our child; why prolong his suffering just to make extra income? It is cruel; this vet is in the wrong profession. Read Less

The resident vet is not very friendly and does not have good interpersonal skills. My dog came for a follow up and he was not willing to see my dog unless he was sedated. I was told by the administrator and vet tech that the wound does not look infected (during this time the vet did not even speak to us). I then decided to go to TAH for a second opinion and they did a thorough clinical examination without sedation and found that the wound was actually infected. Poor service provided overall. I also suggest that those that are not vets shouldn't be providing veterinary advice as it may result in implications. Read Less
