Found myself to be the only person with no other "patients" - Asked the receptionist who went and checked with the dr, only to get a response to say that dr wont be able to see me as she is busy with admin. I've made use of this vet for many years for all the animals I rescue as she is nearest to my home. I rehabilitate and rehome, for the past 20 years+ having a pro-life shelter in Kuils River. The doctor is excellent, however, in this practice MONEY TALKS and she is NOT willing to accomodate you in any way in an emergency situation if you cannot pay upfront. The last time I visited Dr Theron's practice, I had an extreme emergency and realised it would be costing thousands of rands and they made me wait and wait while the animal on my lap was in immense pain. When I eventually got called I was told to please do not put her in a situation where I ask to pay off the account as they are not credit providers. She took the dog in, claimed to have put her on drip and as soon as I walked in my frontdoor (5 minutes later) I was called to say the doggy is dead. Despite all of this I got a hefty bill of well over R1000,00. I have paid an amount on this but refuse to pay the rest as I feel the service I, and the doggy that died, got was unacceptable. I walked out there feeling like a criminal for trying to help an animal that needed immediate emergency treatment. This exact same doggy had 2 operations at Dr. Theron's practice before that amounted to literally thousands of rands that was paid cash. Although they knew I rescue and rehabilitate and rehome, I had been made to feel like a criminal for asking help for a helpless dog. I will never in my life ever again recommend this vet or the practice (with the most sarcastic receptionists I've ever met in my life) to anyone. Read Less
