A shocking response from Vet Point, when I reported an injured cat bleeding from its mouth & nose, a few houses down, lying on the paving. I was told that they were closing soon & that they could not help. They wouldn’t come with me to check if it was serious or to scan the cat to see if it was microchipped. They wouldn’t even loan me the scanner to check it myself. They had absolutely no compassion, concern or interest in helping someone’s injured pet. I couldn’t just leave the cat there suffering, so I took it to the CAMC in Kenilworth, only to find that it was microchipped & lives in Kloof Road, probably a client of theirs. Shame on them!! Dr R Cotton and her team are absolutely wonderful. It's not a money making machine, they love and care for our precious companions, our 4 legged children. Dr Reena has helped me save costs, even waived her fee on occasion. I am so grateful, that I can entrust my beloved JuJu and General Tingari, a very old Ginger gentleman, to her and know they will receive the best care in the world. If I had listened to Dr Cotton my cat could have died of feline hapatic lipidosis. She was unable to diagnose the disease from tell tale signs, and didn't even warn me that it could be an option. Instead I was told my cat could have pancreatic cancer. She failed to perform the most basic physical exam when I first took him in. She didn't even take his temperature, but charged me for a consultation. There was then a complete breakdown of relationship between myself and this vet after I enquired what tests she would be doing on my cat as I am an educated person and had been looking on the internet for what his symptoms might mean. In response she told me that if I want to look on the internet I must treat my cat myself. It was all downhill from there. They charged me thousands of rands and no vet from Vetpoint ever called to give me a diagnosis of what was wrong with my cat. While paying them thousands, I did actually have to heal/ treat him myself. Read Less
