I brought my cat (Ninja) in with an infection on his ear. The young vet that saw him wasn't sure what it was, he said it might be fungal, bacterial or allergies, but didn't bother to take a look at it under a microscope. Instead he just shot him up with antibiotics and cortisone and sent him in his way. At first the infection started to clear up and then about 2 weeks later it came back with a vengeance. I took him to a different vet who took one look under the microscope and confirmed it was fungal (ringworm). The thing about ringworm is that antiobiotics and cortisone don't kill it. In fact they are immunosuppressive which allows the infection to get much much worse. It's now almost 2 months later and I'm still dealing with a horrific ringworm infection that's spread all over my cat's body from head to toe and won't clear up even with oral antifungal medication. If your vet wasn't so irresponsible and negligent and spent more than 10 seconds on their diagnosis this would have been a simple process, but instead you opted to take the quick and easy route and ended up making it 10X worse. You should be ashamed. The funny thing is I had brought my cat in there just a week or two before this infection started and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he picked it up from one of your tables or vets with the way you rush your patients in and out. For anyone considering where to take your fluffy companion, if you're looking for a vet that actually takes the time to do their job properly and cares about the well-being of your furchild, do yourself a favour and stay far clear of Stellenbosch Animal Hospital. I don't know if they just have too many clients or they're only in it to make money, but this isn't the vet to go to for quality care. Read Less
