One star is not even low enough at this point. We took our Labrador to this vet for a check as her left leg was sore. Told to leave her there as they have to sedate her to take x-rays. She spent the whole day in an extremely small cage. On picking her up, we were told she is fine and received some paid meds. She did not get better. However, upon receipt of the invoice, we noticed that her right leg was x-rayed and not the left. Complete negligence and unacceptable for any reputable institution. When speaking to the vet, we were told we can come for a second consult and she will "probably" not charge us again. Quite a cheek I think. We were told to bring her at 8, which we did. Once again, they forced her into a very small cage as there were other surgeries to be done first (which they could have told us from the beginning) and she had to stay there till the afternoon again and be sedated once again. At this point, we were extremely disappointed with the service already. When we dropped her off, her leg was sore but she was fine and could walk. Upon collecting her, we were once again told the x-ray showed nothing but a different vet examined her and could feel that her ligament in her hip is torn off completely. Suddenly this was the outcome after two consults, two sets of x-rays and another vet's opinion. When we got her she could not stand on her leg, we had to carry her home and up the stairs. She can't walk at all and is in extreme pain (which was not the case the morning). Obviously, they deny hurting her more and did not care for any of our tears. Utterly disappointed in the service and complete lack of care. Will never in my life take any animal to this vet again or refer any one else to do so. Read Less

Routinely the hospital reminded us of our 3 cat's and 2 dog's renewal of immunization and routine check. As in the past my wife arrived with two of our cats today during their advertised operational hours only to be told that she cannot just arrive during consultation hour but she should have made an appointment first. Although she offered to wait the strict answer was "no", while holding two very frightened cats at bay.
Well, your reminder should include that one needs an appointment to arrive during consultation hours, it would have saved two trips with two terrified cats.
Very disappointed by this "monopoly" unfriendly performance. Read Less

A single star might seem harsh, but we nearly lost a beloved pet because of this hospital. We have two cats, which have each been tested negative for feline AIDS three times. When one eventually got pancreatitis, several of their blood tests did not shed any light on the situation. We finally went to leliefontein for a second opinion. Within 10 minutes, the vet knew exactly what was wrong with our cat, diagnosed his AIDS and the pancreatitis - both of which the other vet did not catch. A few days of ICU and anti retrovirals and nearly not making it, our cat finally pulled through. I would not recommend this place to anyone, other than for buying food etc. Read Less
