We took our 13 year old labrador for a referral to see Cate Khursandi as she was having problems with coughing. Cate examined Casey very thoroughly and told us that the cough was not a big issue but that her mobility was compromised by her being overweight. She gave us clear recommendations for simple pain medication and guidance for weight loss and since then we have followed her advice very carefully and Casey has lost three kilos and now at the weight she should be. We are delighted with the advice we have been given and losing weight has even stopped the coughing so it was an extremely worthwhile visit. The staff at Rosemary Lodge were very supportive, the whole atmosphere friendly and helpful and all in all a truly good experience. We feel this has helped us add another couple of years to our beloved Casey as she now runs again and is full of life. Furthermore this was all paid for by our excellent pet insurance! We would not hesitate to visit Rosemary Lodge again in the future should the need arise. Read Less

Rosemary Lodge was once the centre of excellence of veterinary care in Bath. I didn’t mind paying their exorbitant prices because I was confident that I and my family were respected and valued as their clients and our animals were in the best hands. Sadly none of this is true anymore with the exception of their high prices. My eldest daughter who attended the Royal High School and is Alumni of Bath University has been treated absolutely disgracefully by a number of staff including vets who do not possess an ounce of respect or compassion for their clients. This is coupled with a sharp decline in standard of veterinary care and a complete lack of grace and humility. Read Less

well im digusted with the so-called care & treatment i recieved a few months ago when i took "Jing Jong" a local possible stray who had been visiting my sisters address for the last 4 years.I rushed him up there after finding him limping across the road in the terrential rain, i took him in dried him off &gave him something to eat & rushed him uptoo "Rosemary Lodge".I explained the situation & said i would pay for his initial treatment even thou i wasnt sure who he actually belonged too.I was in the treatment room for well over an hour saw 4 vetinary nurses including the manageress hereself"SARAH DAGGER" before they even gave poor JingJong any pain relief they looked him over literally for a few seconds and decided he would need his leg amputated caused by being hit by a car and that it was gonna cost me somewhere in the region of £2,000 ,I was so upset by this they demanded to keep him in and hand him over to rspca.i was completely mortified by this so i said well im entitled to a second opinion so i paid the bill and left, took him home kept him warm and comfortable through the night. The next day i took him to a well known and respected vet in Julian rd,he checked him over thoroughly and told me that he was going to be fine and that he did not need his leg to be amputated he just needed to be kept in and given plenty of TLC,his injury was probably caused by a fall and not by a car,i was so relieved i couldnt stop crying, our 4 legged friend has now become a permanent resident curled up on the sofa. Im so glad i went with my gut feeling and got that second opinion the people at "Rosemary Lodge" Wellsway should be ashamed of theirselves, they should be shut down and struck off from ever working with animals again they clearly were just interested in the financial side of things and had no concern whatsoever in care and treatment of the animals welfare.Im now seeking legal advice on this matter and will be taking it further. Rosemary Lodge were absolutely fantastic when my cat got involved in an accident in our back garden and had to have stitches done to one of his legs. My cat got great care with them, and very ideal for us as it was open 24 hours for emergencies, with easy travel to reach the Lodge. We had to rush him in for re-stitching a few times (naughty cat pulled some of them out!) Needless to say, he is fully recovered and back to his adventures. All clean, tidy and plenty of leaflets to read. The vet who saw my cat was friendly and answered all of our questions. Read Less

I had seven dogs registered at Rosemary lodge, in the first instance I took my British bulldog in with a bad eye, she was given £87.00 worth of medication that did nothing on her second visit she was given £56.00 worth of Medication that did nothing I then made an appointment at Peasedown with mr Chivers who correctly diagnosed her with an ulcer and a further £18.00 later she was well point 1 my dog was misdiagnosed twice??? Then in January my son dropped a puppy we took it to Rosemary lodge where they did and X-ray and informed us that the puppy had a fractured spine and would never walk again, they kept him in over night and charged me £1000, the following day I was called to collect my puppy!!! Yet again they had misdiagnosed and I had to foot the bill, no offer of a refund. I withdrew all of my dogs who are now at a proper vets where they are looked after properly but I am still bombarded with text saying that my dogs are due check ups and things, this is a very nice shiny looking vets with a good reception staff but I’m afraid that is as good as it gets, the vets are of a very low standard, it is all about the money and what they can charge or over charge you for and the practice manager is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot. I've moved to Rosemary Lodge Vets about two years ago and overall it's a good practice to visit, however, there are a few issues I have that I am not sure I will continue to come to Bath Vet Group. There is an ongoing issue with my cat, in that she has really itchy skin, which has been going on for almost a year now, but nothing has been diagnosed and she's constantly being given different medication and injections "hoping" it'll stop her from itching. I understand it's not always straight forward to diagnose a cat's itchy skin, but she's stressed and struggling, which breaks my heart to watch. The main problem I have is that we are never seen by the same vet, despite requesting it and being really flexible with time and date. We're just always given the appointment that suits them. Even when I book an appointment a month in advance I still get a different time slot to what I've requested. Being seen by a different vet each time is annoying, but I can accept that if they actually read the notes and history. Going in with an existing problem, but each time we have to explain what the problems are and the most annoying is that most of the times they don't even know how old my cat is. We kept being asked to explain the issue as well as remember what medication she's tried, which I find a bit unacceptable. Also, my cat initially went in for her booster vaccination, but didn't get and came out with yet more things to try and instead of being charged the re-consultation fee, we were charged the amount of a new consultation. I can't help but feel that the vets aren't always honest and just trying to get as much money out of us as they can knowing how much we love our pets. Don't get me wrong, all the staff there are very friendly and helpful. I can't fault the service they provide, but the important part is getting my cat better and have the confidence that the vets highly qualified, but when they don't even know the history of my pet then I don't feel like I can trust them. Our beautiful 6 year old leonburger became ill with a high temperature and excessive urination, they gave her antibiotics, which initially seemed to help, but as soon as she finished them her high temperature returned, she was then admitted for rehydration and intravenous antibiotics, no tests were done to find out what was causing her symptoms and she was sent home still very unwell, after a month of her illness and her getting more sick i took her in as an emergency, they kept us waiting in the waiting area with my dog in a state of collapse for 20 minutes before i eventually saw a 'vet' I had to beg for another 20 minutes for him to find out the cause of her illness as I said she would die if they did not, his reply was 'I don't think that will happen' he reluctantly agreed to get a specialist vet to look at her, although stressed, it would be expensive. ?I left her in their 'care' and have been beating myself up ever since, they rang me the next morning to tell me she was dead, i was horrified, when I told them I wanted to pick her up they said ' are you sure, she's a very big dog?, i guess they would have preferred me to put her in the skip with the other poor animals. I told them when I would be there to collect her, but still they kept me waiting for 20 minutes before they brought her still warm body out, I only wish I had taken her to another vets and not left her with them. Three months later they sent me a reminder to pay the 1200 bill they never sent me, I won't repeat my reply to them here but they agreed to waive the bill. This place is all about the money and not the health of their patients, I would never recommend this place to anyone after my experience, that was 3 years ago and I still get upset thinking about her dying in a cage, in pain on her own. well im digusted with the so-called care & treatment i recieved a few months ago when i took "Jing Jong" a local possible stray who had been visiting my sisters address for the last 4 years.I rushed him up there after finding him limping across the road in the terrential rain, i took him in dried him off &gave him something to eat & rushed him uptoo "Rosemary Lodge".I explained the situation & said i would pay for his initial treatment even thou i wasnt sure who he actually belonged too.I was in the treatment room for well over an hour saw 4 vetinary nurses including the manageress hereself"SARAH DAGGER" before they even gave poor JingJong any pain relief they looked him over literally for a few seconds and decided he would need his leg amputated caused by being hit by a car and that it was gonna cost me somewhere in the region of £2,000 ,I was so upset by this they demanded to keep him in and hand him over to rspca.i was completely mortified by this so i said well im entitled to a second opinion so i paid the bill and left, took him home kept him warm and comfortable through the night.

I found myself in the position of needing to take my Chocolate Lab to the vet today, so I phoned for an appointment and was offered one the same day, when I arrived I was seen on time by an extremely polite and knowledgeable vet. We discussed options and what directions we could go in and all expenses were explained before any treatments were started. When we finished the consultation the reception staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. All the staff I met were a credit to the practice and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Fabulous staff and wonderful service. My cat has been extremely poorly and without this team, he would not be here now. Lisa is amazing, so understanding and thorough. We had to travel 1hr 40mins to get here and the nurses rang me with updates regular. We had our cat insured and we were given client guild lines on the process and we knew exactly what was going to happen. This veterinary hospital put your pets wellbeing first and support the client during the insurance process. Not like some vets, that will not treat your pet until they get all the money first which could be thousands upfront. Very professional team and would highly recommend.
