We were told our dog had cancer, he had a operation, we were advised they had cut out all that they could however he would need chemotherapy which would cost a further £1,500.00 after the £4,000.00 operation, we declined and although they said he had only between 3 and 6 months left.... As our usual vets do not have a scanner, we took Spanner, our 12 year old Retriever here as an emergency admission having collapsed on his walk. Sadly his time had come - we knew it would be this year but to lose him is just 6 hours was heartbreaking. Becky and her team could not have tried harder to save him but when she gently explained his situation, it became obvious that the best thing to do was to let him slip away. We were given as much time as we needed to spend with him as a family and we would like to thank all of you for the kindness you showed us during a most difficult time. Brought my Persian cat in with sickness and lethargy. Was told he should stay in overnight on drip. Went to collect next day and was told bill no more than £400..although they said he was on death's door so should stay another night for tests. They concluded they found a lump on his tummy,he had peritonitis..liver failure...and needed antibiotics. Then quote was £456... As antibiotics were extra. Took him home...within a couple of days he was back to full health...no complications...just must've been a stomach bug or something similar. Avoid this veterinary surgery like the plague or you will get fleeced. Their duty of care is money and not the animal . Read Less

Green Pastures is a wonderful vets and I have always been happy with the treatment and care of all my pets. Last week I had to have my precious 18 year old cat lolly put to sleep. I had it done at home and I was happy with everything but one little thing that I missed was always before with all my other pets I received a lovely condolence card which was such a lovely personal touch but with lolly I did not and I must say I missed this very much. Shocked beyond belief! Green Pastures response to a message from myself expressing disappointment in two recent consultations (where a thorn the length of a paper clip was not found in my dog regardless of my suggestion and info provided), was a new bill for the last consultation! No explanation, email, phone call etc just a bill! So I have now had two bills totalling 80 but no correct diagnosis just the offer of a further 225 bill for an operation to explore her leg :-/ I had no choice other than to give 1 star as it wouldn't let me post without it, I wouldn't have given any. Today we had to make the heartbreaking decision to end our beloved Jack Russell's suffering.
