Absolutely amazing, very professional and caring.
I called Boness Emergency Vet at 3am as my cat had a stroke. She was 20+ years old, they asked if I could get there asap. A 15/20 minute journey. Unfortunately she passed away on the journey.
The receptionist treated her with respect, took her through for the vet to check her and then confirm she had gone. The receptionist offered to take paw prints if we wanted them, returned her to us and when asked how much we owed, she said no charge. We offered a donation but she declined and was more concerned that we were ok. Top vet, top staff who went above and beyond, thank you so much. I am going to donate £100 to Stray Cat Rescue as a thank you Read Less

The nurse even sat and hugged my daughter!! They followed up with sympathy card through the post and phone calls to check we were ok. I have had my elderly, arthritic cat and both dogs registered at Boness Veterinary Hospital for the last five years or so. I have not got a bad word to say about them. Everyone there from the fab team on reception to the lovely nurses and caring vets are brilliant and they take the time to get to know your pets individually. In particular, vet Jayne is so gentle and quiet with nervous patients (my Jack Russell), vet nurse Laura who runs the Puppy Socialisation Parties is really knowledgable and a great and patient (luckily for my exuberant Basenji puppy Flash!) source of advice for new puppy parents and owner Julia is practical, realistic and just a great expert to have on your pet's side. You never feel rushed and as someone who probably seeks professional advice from them more than most(!) I can honestly say that I trust them entirely with the three of my most important family members. Recently my 8yr old Jack Russell Holly had cruciate ligament issues and we thought we were in for major surgery and weeks of kid glove recovery but through teamwork with Jayne and Julia, we opted to try her on physio and hydrotherapy first, which has seen my little 'lust for life' girlie happily enjoying life on all four paws again without the pain and recovery time of surgery. The Boness practice isn't the cheapest out there but they're worth every penny and if you opt for their Busters plan, you get great discounts and 'free' vet nurse appointments , so even more well worth it. Cannot fault them. Thank you so much xxRead Less

Late in 2014 my cat Milo was run over and could very easily have died from his injuries, his leg was shattered in several pieces and if it wasn't for the skill Julia has he would have lost his leg. He is still being treated but his prognosis is getting better every day, and he still has his leg. Shocking treatment by this vet. I was a client with several animals and regularly spending large sums per year with them. When my 18 year old cat needed to be put to sleep I asked for a home visit so she could die in comfort. After 6 hours of them repeatedly failing to come out as they had promised ( I only lived 2 miles away), my cat died in pain in my arms.
I took my cat to the surgery to complain and demand to see Ms Bonness. Instead her husband, the practice manager, came out and asked me to leave. When I refused to leave without a vet seeing me he threatened to call the police (he also ridiculously denied being her husband or partner!). When I stood my ground, with my dead cat in my arms, he ordered his receptionist to call the police...what a way to treat a bereaved dissatisfied customer!
Based on my experience, in my opinion these despicable people are more interested in making money than helping animals. I have now used Letchworth Veterinary Centre for the last few years and they are excellent and UNLIKE Julia Bonness vets, I would highly recommend them for care, value for money and above all compassion for animals. Made assumptions about her condition rather than listen to me and diagnose the problem eg with blood tests. My dog was seriously ill and after being sent home twice I called back and demanded blood tests which showed a serious problem. Even after that Julia still refused to believe it and said the situation was chronic and that the main problem was a muscle spasm. Again demanded follow up bloods which showed the issue had resolved. We have always had a great service at Boness Vets. Recently our dog was admitted when she was very poorly, and the service and care that she/we received was superb. All the vets and nurses who were involved in her care were excellent. They spent a lot of time with her and kept us informed at all times. The follow up care has been excellent and nothing has been too much trouble. The receptionists are great as well! Read Less

Thank you to everyone at Barton. After our dog took ill suddenly, their attention and care have been fantastic. She was kept in for two days and three days, and I was able to telephone at any time to keep up to date with her care plan. I even had two vets telephone me twice, to keep me up to date. I took our dog back to the Barton clinic today for her check, and she was so excited to see everyone again. Thanks again to everyone for looking after our dog (and me) so well Keep up the great work. 3am Sunday morning was the second time we had to go to Boness at that time due to out of hours emergency. The vets on both occasions were very helpful and kind. The lovely lady who helped us this time made the time to make a courtesy call to see how Coco was doing which I feel was such a lovely thing to do. Thank you! Not so happy about the price though haha Read Less

Have been using this practice for my cats for the last 15 years. You won't find a more professional, compassionate and caring group of vets anywhere. They've seen my various pets through long term illness (diabetes), life threatening accidents (ruptured bladder after road accident), severely broken leg (who knows how) and the general bumps and scrapes of life. Would recommend them wholeheartedly. Read Less

I can't thank Julia and her team of vets & nurses enough for the care they have shown all of our pets over the years. Late in 2014 my cat Milo was run over and could very easily have died from his injuries, his leg was shattered in several pieces and if it wasn't for the skill Julia has he would have lost his leg. He is still being treated but his prognosis is getting better every day, and he still has his leg. Every vet we have seen over the last 5 months has been really caring and knowledgeable, the nurses on hand to give constant cuddles and hand feed him when he needed it. I have never experienced that in any other vet. Thank you Boness vets Read Less

Just joined after moving into the area and was very pleased with the service. I have two cats, one which failed to make an appearance two time in a row, but they were very understanding.
Very welcoming and made a nice fuss of my cats. They offer a great health plan called Busters which let's you spread the cost of regular treatment over the year by monthly payments.
I recommended them to my sister-in-law and got a nice thank you letter. Read Less

Appalling treatment of my dog.
Spoke to another vet who said her actions and advice could have killed my dog. Never ever going back. Rude. Read Less
