The vet performed a completely unnecessary procedure on my dog stating that he had to check for perforation of the abdominal wall following a small cut. She had enlarged the wound by licking it but it was obvious there was only skin damage. The procedure cost over £450 but what does that matter I have insurance! General anaesthetic, huge incision and four really untidy stitches, the wound was closed up so badly it looked like a five year old had done it. Really unprofessional attitude to top it all. I don't think the franchise model works in places like this, they seem to concentrate on separating you from your money more than caring for your pet. I won't be going back. Read Less

Took my puppy to have his first jab, the vet refused to do the jab as the puppy had been sick in the morning and hadn't eaten his breakfast. I'm so grateful he didn't do it as puppy does in fact have a very poorly tummy. The vet explained sometimes if puppies are already fighting an illness they can't fight off the small amount of illness injected with the vaccine. The vet explained himself well and I have a lot of trust that he had my baby's best interest at heart. Was kind of annoying but the vet gave him a check over which made me feel a little better. Although puppy didn't get a sweetie at the end despite having a thermometer poked up his bum haha! Read Less

My pet came in for an emergency at 9am prompt when they say they are open. The vet practice is at the back of a Pets At Home Store. The doors had just opened and we went to the vet practice. My dog was clearly in a poor state - very heavily breathing and struggling to lift his head. He was clearly in pain. There was one vet there and I was initially pleased to hear that he was the owner. But then he said they were very busy and I should wait. he then disappeared for ages. My pet was not offered any pain relief at all. He came back and he immediately started asking if I had the ability to pay. I was very put off by this, as I of course I had money to pay but that's hardly the first thing I expect to be asked. Despite saying he was a vet (but apparently not working) he didn't even want to touch my dog, like he was afraid of him or something. He was extremely dismissive and I just wanted him to take a look quickly. He was rude, arrogant and disdainful and just kept asking about finance and whether I had insurance. We asked questions about the dogs health but he was sooo rude because he kept saying how busy he is and we have to wait etc. Eventually I have to say that we received the treatment necessary but without any sign of compassion or real care. During the wrap up we were again asked about payment (we don't have insurance, he asked us several times), In the end it was ok but we were very put off. And yes, of course we paid but we will not be back. We later took our pet to another vet clinic and now, after several months he is in much better health and we are much better served. Read Less

My friend took a sick puppy to see the vet here as an emergency app. The pup was vomiting and had a really bad upset stomach. The vet examined her and was about to prescribe 2 pills which would help her tummy, my friend told the vet that he had brought no money with him, but could pay either that evening or the following morning. With that the vet stopped typing on his computer and said 'If you cant pay now then we cant give you the tablets. When youve paid you can have her pills'. The vet then told my friend to take her home and keep an eye on her. What are the ethics of these vets?? To treat sick animals or to sting you 70 for a pup with an upset tummy?? They wouldve got the money but instead my friend has had to take the pup home and wait til he gets his money. He is in fact going to take her elsewhere in the morning. So, obviously money making is more important to this lot than treating a sick puppy. NICE ONE. I WILL NOT recommend this lot to ANYONE. Most other vets either send you a bill or will let you call in and pay at a later arranged date. NOT HERE FOLKS!! Be careful... no money...... no treatment. Read Less
