We have taken our pets to the clinic in Hockliffe Street since 1982. The vets over the years have treated our cat, mice, guinea pigs and most recently our family dog. The changeover to the new team of vets under Paul and Egbert was so smooth we didn’t even realise there had been a change in ownership. We have found all the vets there kind, knowledgeable and patient and we have had every confidence in the treatment our pets have received. The receptionists too are always helpful and cheerful. Over the past year our much loved dog, a patterdale/cocker spaniel-cross who had reached the age of 18, began experiencing a number of health issues. The care, attention and advice we received from all the vets there has been excellent. Ultimately we had to make the painful decision to put her to sleep in order to spare her any suffering. Egbert and the nursing team were so patient in explaining our options, and so respectful and kind when the moment came to say goodbye, that our dog was able to slip away in the gentlest and most peaceful way possible with her humans by her side. The team even kindly sent a card and a packet of memorial wild flower seeds to plant, which was most thoughtful and unexpected. We have always found the fees there acceptable and the care exceptional. We do not hesitate in recommending The Vet Clinic in Leighton Buzzard. Read Less

can no longer use this vet as for months they couldnt diagnose a urine infection, and treated my dog for the wrong thing, they dont give the same care as the previous owners, and you rarely get to see the same vet, & no matter what, the are only interested in how much they can get as quickly as possible. Due to their incompetence my dog has now got an extremely severe urinary tract infection that has caused stage 5 kidney disease. Should be banned from practicing. Read Less

I don’t know what’s going on at this vets, but since it’s changed hands from Harding’s, is gone down hill. I have seen some things on my visits that maybe I shouldn’t have. Hence I am changing vets. I thought because my dog had been going there for fourteen years, that they new her best. On the last visit she had a problem with her ear, I said you know her history? ( she had gone to Davies with a problem regarding her ear)The vet said that she hadn’t read her history 😳 so what’s the point. Read Less

I was recommended here by my sister. It’s been fantastic my dog is petrified of the vets and they have made jack feel at home. I then had problems and jack had skin cancer. First of all jack was wary of Sergio and so was Sergio. After this Sergio made a massive effort with jack and he became so comfortable. I am so greatful to Sergio he is an amazing vet! Jack even licked him before his last injection. Which He has to be muzzled as he is so nervous. It’s almost like jack was kissing him to say I know you are healing me. This vets are truly the most incredible place. Alvaro and Antonio are the most caring and brilliant vets I’ve ever used. Unlike most vet practices they aren’t about profit and are solely about doing what’s right for your pet. They have saved my dogs life and kept him going with a chronic and what will be a terminal diagnosis for a year when we thought we’d have days. I was advised to contact this practice when my collie ruptured her cruciate ligament and required expensive surgery( she isnt insured)🙁. I called and later Paul rang me back. He was the nicest man, explained everything in detail and the price quoted was brilliant , which included all her aftercare and meds. More than happy we took her in for operation. I'd been a client of the previous owners of The Veterinary Clinic for somewhere between twenty and thirty years, and was very disappointed to discover that they had sold the practice - especially because I wasn't informed beforehand, and only found out the fact when one of my dogs required an operation - not the best time to be left in the hands of a completely unknown person. I love all my animals very much indeed, and the trust that had built up after being with the same veterinary practice for so many years was huge - and a hard act to follow for the new owners. I even considered changing to a nearer vet, however, I was very impressed with Paul (one of the new owners) on first meeting him. He handled the dog in question with a huge amount of kindness, and was obviously very knowledgeable. She had the necessary operation, and made a very quick, successful recovery. I've been back a few times over the last few months - for her to be checked to ensure full recovery before being allowed free running with the rest of my 'gang', and also a couple of fairly minor ailments. It's Paul that has dealt with these on each occasion, and I've been extremely satisfied each time. He's always very kind and caring to my pet, takes time to explain completely about what's wrong and what can be done, and never gives anything less than his total care - I've never felt that I'm being hurried along! I'd rather not have to see a vet too often - it obviously means that I have a poorly pet, but I'm extremely happy with Paul as my new vet. My bulldog needed antibiotics for an infection in his fold they said they would help him evan though i couldnt pay for a couple of weeks , i travelled from milton keynes after having the hassle of finding someone to bring us ,when i got there the vet saw us but we had come away without his medication as they changed their mind ,just another vet that couldnt care less about your animal and will happily let them suffer, wont ever go back and wont ever recommend them to anyone again! We travel 70 mile round trip to bring our French bulldog here.on 1 routine visit for med check for enlarged heart , we got our French bulldog out of the car and she was unresponsive .the vet (paul)grabbed her off us and rushed her into the back room. She was knocking on deaths door. He was very worried for her but within a few hours she was back to her normal bubbly self.if it wasn't for Paul's quick thinking and action our girl wouldn't be here now. Read Less

Senior vet misdiagnosed my French Bulldog and was put on a liquid diet for 3 months with no improvement at all, sent away numerous times with tablets and absolutely sure there was no Hernia. When my dog had lost virtually all muscle and fact in his entire body I asked for an urgent referral to RVC. Upon Arrival of the RVC they performed an emergency x-ray and found a massive Hiatus Hernia and as they described it 'an easy diagnoses'. I would strongly advise not to trust this vet practice as they wasted months of my time and almost cost my dogs life. Read Less

Bought our severely lame Rottweiller in twice, after a week of no improvement I took her back a second time and requested an X-Ray but was told that he didn't need one as he could "feel it was arthritis" and sent us home again with some mild pain killers. The next day I took the dog to another vets for an X-ray and she was immediately diagnosed with advanced bone cancer (something very common in this breed) Feel very sad that my dog suffered for longer than necessary with insufficient pain relief because of this vet.Read Less

We have being going to this practice for about 35 years ! They have looked after all 4 of the dogs we've owned in that time. They are caring, considerate and very fair and reasonable with their charges. Last week they had to put our beloved 12yr old Scottie to sleep. It could not have been handled any more sympathetically. After our rescue rabbit was miss diagnosed several times by Ark House vets we took her to Harding & Michael for a second opinion. with in moments of feeling her abdomen they felt a large lump and took her in to operate. Unfortunately it was a tumor in an impossible place to remove it. She was diagnosed in January 2013 and no over a year later we manage her condition on medication.
