9 and half years here never used dog insurance more than once I advice them to use as he had leg problems and ear problem they said it’s ok as junior staff there,on day of vaccine L4 they gave & 5 hours later at night he collapsed took him to emergency they checked him said he has cancer water around heart if we do surgery he would live 2 months longer and cost £4,000 I said in 9 half years you never seen that problem.I said put him down a gave £500 to put him to sleeping and for ashes then when waking out in hallway they said we keep him here then in morning we see if any surgeons will operate for free there’s no charge they said that all free keeping him here and If surgery no one done in morning they contacted me saying he going to have heatt attack we need to put him down I went there they put him down then gave £3,000 bill I said you said no charge they said we didn’t I said see on your cameras they said they don’t work then next appointment with them they reduced costs but took the money £500 from the first day I gave then £400 insurance cost and the reduced Cost when add up I saw cost was same as first £3,000 I would be advice every one to stay away when dog died in September 2022 they also wouldn’t let me close club membership still was charged till January 2022 and never gave refund keep away from this place as they have joined with a big main company also pines that rip people of thanks.

Unfortunately there simply isn’t not enough space here for me to list all the reasons you should avoid this practise at all costs. I was a client for 10 years and thought they were great, until it really mattered, and my opinion of them was shattered time and time again. All I can say is if your pet is diagnosed with a serious/lifelong condition PLEASE seek a second opinion. I have not found that I can truly trust and believe diagnosis or treatment plans. I have been told that there is nothing wrong with my animal and days later we’re at the RVC and facing major surgery. Had I not pushed for this referral my animal would not have been with me for too much longer. It’s terrifying. I write this review simply with the health & wellbeing of people’s animals in mind. I have only given 1 star because leaving zero stars didn’t seem to be an option. AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!!

My dog was sent to this vet by my registered vet Pines of Maidenhead as they have no out of hours care.
This vet failed to communicate effectively with Pines which resulted in my dog being left in pain and trauma for nearly 24 hours
My dog died before this vet even began an operation to amputate her leg.
Despite this I was charged £1700
Money grabbing incompetent practice.

Called today to try and get our poorly dog seen I completely understand that you may be busy but was rushed off the phone.
When I called I explained that my friend recommended you to us then got told well what’s your normal vets? I said somewhere else and got told bluntly to call them as you were to busy with your own customers! No one let me explain we have just moved here and looking for a local vet.
I truely understand that you must be busy but I thought from the website it was a animal hospital and here to help everyone I tried to explain that out of hours was already expensive and our old house is miles away (and so is our old vet) and was willing to pay to get bob his help just thought somewhere closer could have seen him faster and become his new health care provider.

Sadly Today we had to have our two hounds put to sleep . The staff at the clinic were brilliant very compassionate and understanding we would highly recommend summerleaze vets !! We have now signed our little Dave up to there healthy pet club which is brilliant as you get money off treatments and jabs etc Thankyou guys for today you made our experience slightly easier to deal with 5 stars from us !!!

We have been using Summerleaze for 3 years now and due to the nature of our dog's decease we have to go there quite regularly now. As everywhere it is all about people who work there. Kenny who is considered by our dog to be his personal vet now, is a really knowledgeable and enthusiastic vet who cares, loves and does his best to "mend" the dogs :) He is also a very nice personality and looks on the bright side of life. We also had experience with Tracey who is also a knowledgeable and experienced vet who loves dogs and cats especially (i guess:). The vet practice also offers chemotherapy for dogs which is really good (don't wish anyone to use it but there is this option) so you don't need to tire your friend with long journeys to other places and also saves you time. The reception staff and nurses (Linda, Cat, Gillian, Steph) are also great.

We had to get are lovely 14 year old lab put to sleep, out of hours and they were very understanding. We didn't have to wait to see them as just rung the bell and they came out. The price wasn't that bad too realy nicely handled 1st time using and would use again.
Carpark had cctv and place was clean

I have been with Summerleaze vets since 1990. In all that time I & my various beagles have been seen with care, great compassion & most of all humor.
I would recommend this practice highly. We have just seen Katia who is a cardiac specialist. We have recently seen Sam to have my older dog have a cruciate repair. Also saw Kenny for their 6 month healthy pet check up. I must mention Tracey who has cared for all my dogs since she has been with Summerleaze especially in her care for my last elderly pooch that reached the good age of 15 she was brilliant.
All the staff front of house & back are brilliant.
. The puppy parties are great fun for pups & humans.

When my dog was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Summerleaze was recommended to us as a specialist veterinary hospital, they have cared for my dog for the past 2 years and have always been eager to please and kept my mind at ease, that the best possible care is a priority. All the staff have been fantastic and have always taken the time to explain processes, and detail the condition. Thank you to everyone at the hospital.

I would recommend this practice highly. We have just seen Katia who is a cardiac specialist. We have recently seen Sam to have my older dog have a cruciate repair. Also saw Kenny for their 6 month healthy pet check up. I must mention Tracey who has cared for all my dogs since she has been with Summerleaze especially in her care for my last elderly pooch that reached the good age of 15 she was brilliant.
All the staff front of house & back are brilliant.
. The puppy parties are great fun for pups & humans.

When my dog was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Summerleaze was recommended to us as a specialist veterinary hospital, they have cared for my dog for the past 2 years and have always been eager to please and kept my mind at ease, that the best possible care is a priority. All the staff have been fantastic and have always taken the time to explain processes, and detail the condition. Thank you to everyone at the hospital.
