In my few visits to Shinfield Vets I’ve met with a fantastic and friendly vet (Sarah) and dealt with two wonderful women on the reception desk (Nicola and Justine) but I’m afraid I won’t be returning simply because I can’t say I was treated with respect or courtesy by Leo. She spoke to me abruptly and sarcastically, and did so in front of other customers. I left feeling bewildered and humiliated. Because of this, I can’t recommend the surgery. Our cat is 16 yrs old, asthmatic and arthritic. We moved to Shinfield vets just under a year ago, after having experienced poor service at a local branch of a nationwide veterinary group. At the old place, there was high turnover of staff, people had to reminded about treatment plans, and there was no continuity of care. The move to Shinfield vets was the best move we could possibly have made for our cat. By using a holistic approach including acupuncture, Andy and his team have transformed our cat from an elderly man who couldn’t get onto the sofa to a sprightly boy who can leap onto the sofa and plenty of other places besides. Unlike the veterinary groups, Shinfield vets provide true continuity of care. I've used Shinfield Road vets for over 15 years. They may not be the largest practice in the area or have a big syndicate behind them but this is a plus. The care they give is second to none. My old boy has become a frequent flyer with a number of life limiting conditions. Andy and his staff have been marvellous and I truly believe that he wouldn't be enjoying life as he is without their dedication. I have been with this vets for many years. Took my dog there for a check up as he has sickness and diaharea, vet checked him over didn't seem overly concerned. Left with worming tablets. I asked about antibiotics was told that they are not given for upset tummy even though I have always been given them before. !!!! Was told to bring him back to have his temperature checked again the next day as it was slightly raised and if he deteriates. We took him back the next day the vet read his notes from the night before checked his temperature. When we got the bill we got charged for another consultation even though we had been encouraged to take him back. This vets is all about making money !!!!!!!!! Read Less

A very caring practice with lovely staff who showed us great compassion when putting our beloved cat Felix to sleep at the grand old age of 19 years and our beloved dog Sheba who was put to sleep on Thursday at the grand old age of 15 years old. Friendly helpful staff and a clean efficient surgery. We have been with this surgery for a long time now and have always felt that our pets are getting excellent treatment. Took both of my cats in this morning for weight and teeth checks - a free service which allows me to keep a close eye on the boy cats weight (he loves to eat) and both cats teeth (they both have naff teeth). Thorough check over completed with care and respect of the cats and some good advice provided in terms of skin and teeth care. I do like to take the cats in every 6 months or so because they both have bad teeth. The opening hours and free clinics here make it so easy to take good care of your animals without having to rush around, you don't pay for basic check-ups with a nurse and you don't pay extra at the weekend :) Great, friendly, helpful staff in all areas. Shittest vet ever, 3months our dog has been poorly and u didn't do what u should have and taken to another vet to find out out not have minicockle meningitis.! We could has lost our boy and he could still end up blind ect. All about the money u can get.Read Less

If you want a vets that is truly diligent and operate a fantastic 7 days a week including bank holidays, then go no further than Andy Williams' independent veterinary practice.. Our three dogs are brilliantly cared for by all the staff and what makes this practice so much better than any of the other local one's ( and we have been registered with quite a few of them over the years) is that they can provide comprehensive care with a vast array of investigations without having to always travel miles to individual specialists, unless it is absolutely necessary. Our dogs love to visit and they welcome both long standing and new clients with the same happy enthusiasm and advice. We are very glad that they are there on hand for all our pets needs and if our dogs our happy then we are too - a big thank you all the staff at Shinfield Vets for all your hard work but mostly the fact that you genuinely care. I first visited Shinfield Vets in 2011 after Andy was recommended to me. It is wonderful to have vets who take time to know and really care about your pet when you take them for a visit. Andy and all his staff are so caring and helpful and give what appears to me to be a personal service. On a few occasions I have called when my pet was poorly and required advice and I just felt I was getting a personal service. I have recommended Shinfield Vets to friends who have also gone to them and like me are really happy with the care they receive. We have all our pets, Tupac and Queenie, our 2 cats and Dre our German Shepherd who's now 14 months old and has been with Shinfield vets since we got him at 8 weeks as a big bundle of fur! We just received a sympathy card after our beloved dog had to be put to sleep earlier this week. We are heartbroken but knowing he had the best care right until the end is heartwarming (they showed more compassion for him even after he was asleep than I could ever imagine possible from someone outside our family).
