Following skin condition, wrong advice given causing some distress to our dog. Missed basic flea infection. Manager refusing to acknowledge and robust stance with condescending attitude. Bizarre way to conduct business given the age of our dog and the guaranteed future revenue that they will now not be receiving. A shame as previous years have been fine. I took my 5 month old hamster to get checked out as she was bleeding and something wasn't right. They fitted me in the same morning I rang and was told she needed to be put to sleep as her insides had come out. Operation wld be too expensive and she might not make it. The vet was great with me as I burst into tears she allowed us to go home and let my son say goodbye then bring her back to be put down which we did. It was awful as she was healthy and still a baby. The vet was so kind and thoughtful she explained the procedure and brought her through covered up in the box i provided after she had put to sleep. I have been with gp vets for years and each time we have had to have one put down they have been brilliant... We have bought another one today my son has named her lexi she will never replace bree but she has brought happiness back into our house againRead Less

Unfortunately, a couple of weeks back I had to have my dog, Poko, put to sleep after being diagnosed with kidney failure. However, I can't thank the staff more for all they did for me and Poko, pulling out all the stops to try and extend his life, and make him feel comfortable. They not only gave the best treatment possible to Poko, but were very understanding of his nervousness in new surroundings, and were incredibly kind to me when it was discovered that his illness was terminal. It is never easy saying goodbye to your baby, but I am so grateful that we were both treated with the utmost kindness and respect, unlike some who would've treated us as just another patient. I feel devastated by my visit to this vets on Monday. I took my poor little 10 year old bunny in who was clearly at the end of her old life and while I knew it was likely she would be put down I was terribly upset. The vet who 'looked after us' was cold and unfriendly, not even offering me a tissue while I sobbed in front of my 1 year old while he sat in his buggy. It was clear she felt no emotion for me or my rabbit. She told me the nurse would hold her as it as easier this way and disappeared out the back when she returned she handed me my carry case for the rabbit and said the receptionist would help me out but I could pay later if I wished, I hadn't even said goodbye I didn't realise she wasn't coming back and I wasn't even given the option of holding her or being there. I told the receptionist I didn't know I would see her again and she just said sorry, no offer of seeing her or comfort that she would at peace now. I am so upset with how my poor rabbits life ended its made the whole episode so much more traumatic for me and I regret doing to gp vets so much I wish I could turn back the clockRead Less
