For anyone considering having their animal (female dog in my case) spayed, I would avoid this practice as they are way behind the times and have no intention of changing to catch up with the rest of the world. Laparoscopic (Keyhole) spaying is not offered by this Vets because "they do not think it is the right way to go". Keyhole surgery is much kinder on the animal with the same effect and faster recovery times and is highly recommended by many eminent vets. Even for humans, it is the gold standard in surgery. Forest House need to update their thinking and consider the wellbeing of the animal. Advantages Smaller wounds and much less trauma Much faster recoveries with a quicker return to activity Keyhole surgery is the gold standard that we expect as human patients Wound size is very much reduced. Typically two 6mm incisions Better visualization of organs and accuracy of surgical technique Less likelihood of wound swelling Less stressful for your dog By far the kindest and best option. I have moved my pets to the Alma Veterinary Hospital and received excellent friendly and modern care for my pet. Read Less

Took great care of Milo my Shar Pei with an entropion operation. I would highly recommend Forest House for their great staff and honesty. Honesty for being told he might have to be sedated to remove the stitches which would cost as I was expecting. when I went back to pick him up, I was told they didn't have to. Honesty like that doesn't happen very often so thank you. Read Less

Rip off cost for critical pet medicines (dog eye drops). Disappointing and ridiculous mark up £6.99 (online from several suppliers) up to £18.60 is not justifiable. This feedback is decent, legal and honest it will be interesting to see if it is suppressed or censored in any way as it appears to have been on other feedback sites.Having read up on this it is best just to ask for a prescription which they must supply by law and then buy online, be interesting to find out what they intend to call a "reasonable cost" Read Less

Forest House have been looking after our Pyreneans since we moved to Berkshire: Monty, Champagne and Charlie, and currently Alfie and Millie. They referred Monty to the RVC for a serious heart problem and discovered Addison's Disease in Charlie (which I understand is difficult to diagnose). We were tempted away for a while by a friend who is practice manager for another vet's, but we had to come back! Completely trust them and have experienced the care and respect they show humans and animals when the time has come to make that most difficult decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Read Less

As a family we have used Forest House Veterinary Group for many years.I took on a little Jack Russell cross 12 years ago who had been in 4 different home before the age of 5 months old. When my husband and I took her she hadn't had her second inoculations and had a corroded hip joint that Martin did an amazing operation on and we've not had any issues with it since she was a puppy. This week Lucy was in terrible pain and we were getting very frustrated not being able to work out what the problem was.Lucy is currently under treatment with Yantha who has done a fabulous job finding and treating the problem with Lucy and making her comfortable again. It gives a great comfort knowing you have confident and thorough Veterinary surgeons, nurses and staff caring for our fur babies. We would like to thank everyone at the surgery especially Yantha for her thorough care this week.Read Less
