Hi everyone , this post is not a review as such although I've been going to Astonlee for 20 odd years and they are truly amazing, they go beyond your expectations and care about your pet not what's in your wallet. The main reason for this post is because I've been hearing a great deal about pet owners choosing not to vaccinate ??? And wanted to tell you my story as it may change your mind if your one of the non believers regarding annual vaccinations. 8 yrs ago my 2 yr old English Bull Terrier by the name of Dot was a happy healthy dog,we was out on a dog walk when she picked up a stick and it cut the inside of her mouth, I didn't think anything of it as she kept on playing and running !!!! 2 weeks later on a Sunday evening she turned yellow and couldn't walk and collapsed in the bathroom , ( this all happened in the space of an hour) we rushed to Astonlee where Paul greeted us and told us the horrific news that she probably wasn't going to make it, she spent a couple of days on drips and antibiotics Paul then asked if we wanted to be referred to the Davies specialist centre for a blood transfusion, which we did, but at 3am on Wednesday morning my lovely little girl died of internal bleeding and organ failure. The reason ... Rat urine on the stick she cut her mouth on caused leptospirosis ... I was devastated ... There are now 4 vaccinations that can protect your dog against the various strains of this awful brutal virus. I urge you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get your dog vaccinated, they as our beloved pets deserve that we do this for them, it doesn't hurt them, it's quick, non expensive and gives you peace of mind that you've done all you can to protect them !! It was an awful death that could of been prevented if the other vaccination strains had been available at the time, unfortunately they were still being made in a laboratory .. But now they are available. So if you haven't got your dog vaccinated please do so !! I wouldn't wish what happened to my dog on anyone ! Astonlee have their own very cheap monthly pet plan that covers you for you annual boosters worming and flea treatments, they are not advising you to do this as a money making scheme, that's not their agenda, their agenda is to give your pet the best possible chance of a long happy healthy life. Thank you for reading this post and I hope I change owners minds about vaccinations. Kindest regards Michelle AlexanderRead Less
