I would highly recommend this vets to anyone. Been taking my dog there since he was a puppy and is now 12. Had no problems with him over the years until one day playing with his toy shaking his head, then by hitting his ear with the toy leading to Hematoma. At first it could be popped and be fine but after a while it wouldn't stop so which lead to having surgery. He has now made a full recovery. We have used this veterinary surgery for more than forty years. I would never contemplate using another surgery unless it was a dire emergency far away from home. We have even cut short a holiday to come home with our dog who needed treatment. Over the years we have had numerous dogs and cats and have never experienced any problems seeing a vet at any time including on two occasions at eleven o'clock at night. All of the staff are caring and compassionate and treat our pets as though they are theirs. We have just acquired a tortoise who was poorly and he was treated with the same care as any of our other animals. I always recommend Pengelly and Mizen to people who ask about vets. 5 stars isn't enough for this surgery they nursed my old dog throughout his liver failure with care, helping us keep him for a further 9 months and making the final parting quiet and dignified.
