ave been a client of vets4pets St Pauls Road practise for more or less 5years and never had a big issue or problem as I only visited for routine vaccinations and check ups for my pets. However when I had to attend as my dog was very sick and i suspected a uterine infection as she had recently had an artificial insemination from a private breeder it was a very different story. I explained my concerns to the vet and she did not seem to take this into consideration not even checking her vulva after I told her there was discharge. Instead she decided it was a stomach bug and sent her home with some antibiotics. I trusted my vet as she has a lot more training in this area so took my dog home and administered the antibiotics as directed. Two days later my dog was showing no signs of improvement and I was concerned so returned to the practise and asked to book an appointment with the practise partner who I had seen numerous times before and really trusted. The receptionists were exceptionally rude to me including the receptionist I wasn't even having a conversation with even though I was polite to them. This was upsetting for me as I was very worried about my dog and feeling like no one is willing to help was not how I expected a veterinary practise to respond. I then called the Bretton practise who were a lot more understanding and booked me an appointment for the same day. When I arrived for my appointment the vet already had an injection waiting to give my dog and did not examine her at all before administering the injection. The vet had already made up her mind what was wrong after reading the previous appointment notes and did not listen to my concerns. A few days later my dog developed heavy bleeding and discharge from her vulva and I immediately took her to the vets. They then scanned her and told me she had Pyometra which were quite severe and could of caused my dog to die. She was booked in for emergency surgery the next day. The vet at this time did say to me if it was caught earlier (treated severe in first time around) she would not have been in so much danger and would not have needed the emergency surgery. I have made a formal complains about this problem but they never had ghe courtesy to repky back to my email. One of the partners of the surgery after the operation i had word about this and she did acknowledge the errors that were made she only apologised and offered to take some money off the last £1000 bill however this was never honoured.
