Terrible experience. Took my dog in three days ago off his food with a lump on his side that had just appeared and long term stomach issues. Saw a decent vet and was told to see how the anti sickness medication would work and to go away and think about £215 worth of bloodtests that may need running relating to his stomach and was told that the lump wasnt a priority at the moment. He was still ill so took him back to the vets for his blood tests the following day. A different vet saw him, again very nice and she thouroughly examined him and put a needle in the lump which produced fluid. She said that was probably making him ill and gave him painkillers and antibiotics and said to have him xrayed the next day. If he was still the same. Took him in the next day and he had starved for his xray. We saw a vet called Jo Maxwell who said it was saturday and she would not xray him. She insisted he was better that the day before, despite never seeing him before and his leg being more lame. He had been in extreme pain all night and the lump was still present. She would not listen to us and was rather offhand and blamed us for not pointing he lump out to the previois vet, whixh I had done. We asked to be refered to a specialist at a different hospital, Jo called back and said the hospital would not see him without an xray or bloods...she didnt say he still needed his bloods taken and she had refused the xray. She suggested we book in for the tests next week, delaying his pain and discomfort for a few days more. Although a couple of the vets were nice at willows, there is inconsistancy in opinions and tests that need running (which is also wasting lots of money) and long waits in the waiting room. This surgery is clinical and not at all homely or welcoming and you will find it difficult to see the same vet twice. I would also avoid Jo Maxwell, if you want to be listened to about your concerns.
