Rose Cottage Veterinary Centre was opened on 2nd June 1984 by Norman Henry. The aim of the practice is to provide a good veterinary service to all our clients. Thus, by telephoning the surgery number, help is always available. The practice is a mixed one, dealing with all types of small animals, horses and farm animals. In order to maintain an efficient service, it is helpful if clients would telephone to make an appointment.

I've tried a more local, local to me, vets before now and not felt I've received the same level of attention as I have at Rose Cottage. I like how my child/dog is given attention from all staff around the centre, after all he is the service user too. I've never felt rushed during an appointment and I really like the fact that they're happy to give advice over the phone (to regular clients I imagine) for little issues rather than demand you go in. Obviously if needs must you'll be told its best to go in but its the feeling that they're not taking the mick providing you with unnecessary medicines, treatments or examinations which encourages me to trust them, again unlike other vets. My dog is a major special part of my life. In fact I'd argue the fact that some kids are probably not loved or cared for like my dog! Therefore it's nice to take him to a place, be it for his annual check up with vaccine boosters or for examination if he's poorly, where the service quite rightly centres around my dog giving an atmosphere which reassures me he's in good hands. Just wish the centre had more permanent vets. They're all really good but we see a new face every time. The girl yesterday was brilliant but she probably won't be there next year :-( Overall, I would highly recommend Rose Cottage. I always come away confident that I understand any issues my dog/child has. For immunisations their prices are competitive even when comparing to PDSA who's service we are forced to access at times too. Wouldn't go anywhere else (while I have funds)Read Less

Rose Cottage has been my vets for 20 years because they are simply the best. I travel to them from Liverpool over the Runcorn Bridge even though there are vets nearer to me. I trust them and know that they will give my pets the best care and the costs are very reasonable. They are always amazingly helpful - the other day I rescued a Goldfinch from one of my cats and found it had lost its flight feathers from one wing so I took it to them and they are now caring for it . They give me updates when I ring and never make me feel like I'm being a nuisance. Read Less

Helpful, caring team. Excellent care and support and as it is still an independent surgery there are no corporate hikes in prices.

Liz Gorse visited my friends horse after she became unwell whilst being ridden, I have owned horses for most of my life worked with them and have them in my blood, I have met a lot of people in the industry along the way, I met Liz on the call out, Beau had begun to feel and look better however Liz took lots of time to assertain what had happened, Beau's background, lifestyle and surroundings she examined her thoroughly and compassionately and included everyone in the discussions making everyone feel their Input was important and relevant, discussed everything giving lots of time and making everyone feel that Beau was incredibly important which I must add she is. Just wanted to send a big thank you. Unfortunately Natalie her owner informed me that Beau had become unwell a few days later luckly for Beau Liz was on hand to visit her again and hopefully she is on the mend.Read Less
