I had to rush over to Runcorn from Sheffield and forgot to bring my pet dogs heart tablets. I initially contacted Laurel Veterinary Practice and asked if they could provide me with 4 tablets to last me the weekend until I could return home. My primary vet provided them with medical notes to cover any prescription issues. However, they refused to provide me with 4 tablets and said they would only sell me a full tub at a cost of £170. Luckily Rose Cottage Practice couldn't have been be more helpful and provided me with the tablets for less than £20. I literally would not recommend this veterinary surgery to anyone.....i have never been so let down disappointed and disrespected by anyone in my entire life....i sadly had to have our family pet put to sleep due to her being very poorly and that in itself was the hardest choice I had to make EVER! To take away my beloved dog away from myself and my daughter's! Me and my girls decided we wanted to bring her home and have a individual cremation., i signed the forms and my mum paid the fees till I could pay her back as they wanted the fees upfront! 2 weeks later I still hadn't heard back from the laurels to say my dog was ready to be picked up..so i called the laurels to be fobbed of and someone would call me back as they were busy, they did not return my call so on the Saturday I called again to be told they were investigating her whereabouts and the cremation place was closed til Monday! This was a lie they were open till 12.30 so I called them myself to be told roxie was not on the list for individual cremation and they would get someone to call me Monday...the cremation place really were amazing with me and my girls! My mum took over this ordeal for me as I cudnt speak to laurels due to bein so angry and confused to where my girl was to then get a phone call to tell me she had been put in a communial cremation and her ashes had already gone! I have never been so heartbroken and disgusted in my life to be told that this was a human error and things like this happen an they couldn't rectifie what THEY had done, my mum was then told that a member of staff did NOT follow protocol how does that even make any of this ok it will never be ok...the worst thing was how could they have done this when she was the only dog to be picked up that day! I had to then tell my girls after they had made a special place for our dog that she would not be coming home...there 6 and 8 seriously how do u tell them this :( with great difficulty if it wasn't bad enough she had to be let go due to illness to tell them she wouldn't be home at all is disgusting ...they sobbed for hours and are as confused and hurt as me....the only people that seem to care about what had happened was Whitley brook pet cremation place.....the lady that delbt with me and my family was amazing and also informed me that the laurels still had the paper work they for roxies INDIVIDUAL CREMATION.....NOT COMMUNIAL basicly she was put into the wrong bag and sent with NO paper work.....and there u have a vets that is supposed to care about your animals and there owners have shown no remorse or sympathy or realise what THEY have done to my family! Excellent service we got. The staff were so professional and lovely. Had to make a difficult decision and was given plenty of time and privacy.. we received a lovely card and flower seeds a couple of days later. A really nice gesture. Thank you to everyone. Read Less
