Birch Heath Veterinary Clinic is a small animal surgery based in the village of Tarporley, near Chester. Our friendly team of veterinary surgeons,veterinary nurses and animal assistants welcomes all pets - we aim to ensure animals and their owners feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door.
We are recognised as one of the best equipped surgeries in the country for treating raptors, parrots, cage & aviary birds, waterfowl, reptiles, rabbits, tortoises, exotic small mammals, zoo and wildlife. We have an onsite commercial laboratory which specialises in processing samples from unusual species, as well as more domestic animals. The veterinary surgeons have an international reputation and have lectured extensively both in the UK and worldwide. Uniquely the practice has outdoor mews for the hospitalization of raptors and ventilated purpose built parrot wards. Birch Heath have the facilities to hospitalise any small animal, reptile, avian or exotic mammal.

Absolutely could not fault them they got my bearded dragon in when he was poorly and got him fixed even thou she thought he had no hope of being fixed. Would highly recommend for exotic pets

My daughters African Pigmy Hedgehog Mila was very poorly in July and I contacted Birch Heath and they were very helpful. Mila saw A lovely vet called Leanne. She was brilliant with Mila and soon had her better. We actual feared the worst when we dropped her off as she looked so poorly. Leanne kept us up to date with everything she was doing with her. Mila has made a full recovery and we can't thank Leanne enough for all of her help.

Thanks a lot for looking after our little budgie, Earl, who is now fully back on their feet and doing better than ever! Really happy with all of the staff, who worked so hard during the days, evenings and weekends to make sure he was OK. His bad chest has completely cleared up and he is more active than ever, all thanks to Birch Heath!

I'd just like to thank Birch Heath Vets for all their assistance in helping Blitz my chinchilla who had spurs. Without the expertise of all the staff at Birch Heath Clinic we wouldn't of been able to give him the best possible chance of recovering, although in the end we had to let him go I believe that he was given the best possible chance.

I have an axolotl, not the most common pet and after speaking to my local vets they said this is the place to go, and they were so right! I was with the vet Vicki for around 15mins discussing differen...
I have an axolotl, not the most common pet and after speaking to my local vets they said this is the place to go, and they were so right! I was with the vet Vicki for around 15mins discussing different treatment option and she seemed generally interested and not in a rush to get me out. Then after that we had numerous phone calls discussing the next phase of treatment which I wasn't charged for and Vicki always rang back when she said she would, even after the practice had closed for the day. Would not hesitate to bring my boys here again if they are ill!

I got a lesson in chicken biology and welfare, shown what to look out for in the future and I thought it was a great service.
