Bold vets has been caring for your pets since 1980. Mr and Mrs Grove took over the practice in 1991 and established Appleton Hall veterinary clinic in 1998, so we can provide excellent care for companion animals across St Helens and Warrington.

Having used this practice for a number of years with a number of different foster dogs. I can honestly say we have never been over charged and always been given excellent honest advice. I have unfortunately experienced the other side of having to use a larger group of veterinary practices who see you as profit! Thanks to everyone for the great service we have received.

Truly brilliant practice. Staff are so committed to doing everything in their power to get the best result for the animals, and compassionate and supportive to owners in difficult times. Great practice with a friendly, proactive team. Our dog hates the vets due to a bad experience at a previous practice, the team at Appleton go out of their way to accommodate her and make sure she's getting all the care needed. I couldn't recommend enough.

When my regular vets and another local one were too busy to see my very ill kittie the staff at Bold Vets were only too happy to help. Despite already being fully booked they didn't turn us away. They stayed well past closing hours to treat my sick cat. Forever grateful as had we waited another night not sure he would be here. Amazing staff with big hearts for the animals. Thank you. Brian

Switching vets to day after having both my dogs in here due to on going ear infections I payed a bill off 100 for a test to be done to find out why this was on going for so long. After months waiting ...
Switching vets to day after having both my dogs in here due to on going ear infections I payed a bill off 100 for a test to be done to find out why this was on going for so long. After months waiting for the results that we had to ask over in the end they told us that it's a ongoing thing and just to carry on with the drops there's nothing else they can do. Last year while I was in over these ear infections I did point out a small lump on my dogs back to be told by one off the vets it's common for dogs and nothing to worry about and last week I was back in yet again over a ear infection and while I was there I did point out the lump to a different vet to be told that it it needs removing and why I didn't point this out ??? In fuming and sick with worry now . They give me drops again and tablets for this lump ( just incase it goes down they said ) I took my dog home after the 80 bill and the next day for a few days she was vomiting bad . I called the vets first three by Monday over her vomiting over these tablets to be told to bring her in again to check her over which they should off done in the first place and they will change her tablets as they were making her vomit but I would have to pay again ?? This place seems to be more happy taking your money than looking at your pet and now I'm worried sick over a lump that you said was no record off me mentioning to you last year ??? Need a vet to give me the answers I need to the problems both my dogs have got and in the 6 years ive been with you I've had nothing but large bills so sorry for the review but I'm upset and disappointed in your service

We took our ferret here for a check up. We'd never been this vet's before. Everybody was brilliant. The vet was really gentle with Pan and in the end he didn't want to leave!

Took my rabbit for an appointment today for her nails clipped and an injection, the vet clipped her toenail too short and made her bleed, won't be going back here wasn't a nice experience

The staff at Bold are fantastic with my dogs. Most dogs sense they are going to the vets and don't want to go in. Mine go in without any reluctance and wagging their tails. The vets here seem to genuinely love animals and make a real fuss of them. They have the time for you and your pets and fully explain everything to you. I am glad I discovered Bold Veterinary Clinic. Thank you to all the staff

When my regular vets and another local one were too busy to see my very ill kittie the staff at Bold Vets were only too happy to help. Despite already being fully booked they didn't turn us away.
