Four Paws has looked after our dog right up until the end tonight, they have always given us an appt when needed and given sound advice including best financial advice on managing medication. Tonight Louise has come to our home and put our much loved dog to sleep at our request. She did this with all of the love and care that we would have given had we had the skill to carry this out, which we do not. I find this surgery excellent and in particular their vet Louise. She is the most pleasant and caring vet I've ever been to. My elderly dog doesn't like his face touched and tends to wriggle and fight has hard as he can when anyone goes near it. Fantastic service, I have used lots of different practices throughout my life and these guys really do care. I can give numerous examples of their excellent service, the most recent being last night. I walked my dog at our normal place & noticed her eating something in the grass, when I looked closer I saw it was rice, little spoonfuls hidden in the grass where I couldn't see them but my dog could sniff them out. They where dotted all around & this made me suspicious. I fellow dog walker had mentioned a dog eating something in the area a few weeks back that turned out to be poisoned. Panic set in & I wanted my dog to regurgitate this food ASAP. I rang four paws in the hope they may be open late, it was 18:30. Mark answered & told me they'd just closed, I explained the situation & they agreed to stay back until I arrived. I received a follow up call the next day, which I wasn't expecting, to see how my dog was doing. I just can't fault them, stars all of them. Read Less

I can not recommend Four Paws highly enough. They go well beyond and above the call of duty. They are compassionate, professional, thoughtful and caring. We sadly had to have our family dog put to rest after 15 years. The staff at Four Paws have cared for her all that time and I know that without their support my parents would have found what has been an extremely difficult time even harder without their support. Steve Hancox has been our family vet for over 20 years, we have been clients since Four Paws opened it's doors and from when it was previously known as Andale Vets before Steve went on his own. Never in all the years have we gone have we had a bad experience. Family pets were treated amazingly and this lead us to keep them as our vets when we got married and got our own pets. Over the years we have dealt with emergency illnesses, conditions and all the general things that crop up with owning a pet. Even having to say goodbye to some of our pets over the years has been hard but with the support of Four Paws we always got through. A good strong team of knowledgeable vets work alongside Steve and they too have been there for a good number of years with him. The vet nurses at the practice do change but he has nurses there who have been there a long time and even though some leave, many come back to work there again because they are such a great team. There is a very personal touch here that you don't get in larger practices and we like our vet to take their time to get to know us and our pet. Their advice and support is second to none and unlike many vet practices I know of they don't do tests and put clients through stress and unnecessary costs unless it is vital for the care and wellbeing of the animal. A lot of people look at costs of things and in some areas Four Paws may seem expensive compared to other vets but what is cheaper somewhere else is recouped back in other charges so I feel they are very comparable price wise overall. Also for the care, skills, standards of treatment, anaesthetics and tests used and carried out, their services are in fact priceless to us. As a pet owner today it is advisable to have your pet insured because more diagnostic testing is available which can be expensive but this means that our pets get to stay with us for longer with great treatment and a great quality of life when that time comes that veterinary care and support is needed. I don't work for Four Paws before anyone thinks I sound too knowledgeable but I do have my own pet sitting business and care for many pets so I have to have a good knowledge and understanding of veterinary care and treatment plus having such a great veterinary team in Four Paws who have looked after us for many years soon teaches you things and as a pet owner you ask questions just like you would with a human and a Dr. Personally and professionally I won't recommend any other vet, over 20 years of care and excellent service mean so much to us and we think Four Paws is wonderful - thank you! A very expensive surgery with awful receptionists, long waits and poor vets. After a consultation you don't even get a print out of the diagnosis or treatment and the medication required. Don't take your pet here they just want your cash ! Read Less
