I can't say that I "loved it" on this last occasion but I wanted to say how kind and considerate I found Woodcroft in Cheadle Hulme to be. My poor cat was sadly hit by a car earlier this week and taken to this surgery where the best possible care was taken of him until we arrived. Sadly Oscar was put to sleep as he was in a bad way and it was the kindest thing to do for him. Helen the vet was amazing, she was so understanding and let us take as long as we needed. We have even received a lovely card from them since with some very touching words in, this means a lot to me. We use Woodcroft for our other cat and will continue to do so as the service is excellent and can't be faulted. Special thanks too Woodcroft Cheadle Hulme and Helen for all they did for my precious Oscar Read Less

I can't tell you how much myself and my husband appreciated the kind, compassionate and caring nature of the vets and amazing staff at Woodcroft. We had to make the very difficult decision to put our little Daisy rabbit to sleep in November. The staff were amazing. They gave us so much time to say our goodbyes and treated her with love and respect. They were so understanding in such a sad situation. We will never forget how lovely they were with us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woodcroft to anyone looking for a fantastic veterinary surgery. Thank youRead Less

Thank you so much for all you have done and are still doing for my beautiful bichon Meg Millie Wilson right now. xx Update: Thank you to the team at cheadle A&E who cared for my Meggy Moo. She came home briefly before her lungs started to struggle again. But you guys allowed her to come home. I remember the name of the vet the morning we brought her in (Helen), she was so kind to us and Meg. She saved her with that chest drain. The staff who we spoke on the phone to who kept us updated. And (so sorry I was too distraught to remember your name) - The vet who saw meggy in the morning and let her come home and then when we bought our baby back, she was so caring and supportive when we had to let our baby go. She is an amazing vet. It was the hardest decision ever, I'm totally broken without her... Woodcroft wasn't Meggy's registered vet, but she was known to them from her op in 2013. She actually gave you guys giggles then when she was supposed to be resting post op but she was brought in because we couldn't get her to sleep/stay still and she was behaving bizarrely - TRAMADOL yeah... we stopped that then! The care Meg received was amazing - So compassionate. I miss & love Meg so much... Where ever she is I know she'll be thankful too. She wasn't a fan of the vets... But she will have known you was trying to help. I'd have given my life to save hers. Whatever it costs, whatever the price - That doesn't matter. Meg is family... Thank you guysRead Less

Over 20 years with this group 11 dogs numerous rabbits and gunipigs. The most expensive vets in the country and on the last few visits the rudest unhelpful pet unfriendly staff i have ever met. Wouldn't let me see my dog who had been with them 3 days until I'd payed the 500 bill then didn't give me back her favourite blanket. It wasn't there's to keep. On the last visit. An emergency at 9am that would have only taken 10 minutes of their time as I found out by going to Lea Green 2 minutes down the road. They wanted to keep the dog without treating her until an appointment at 6.45 pm ?????? My dog was treated a few minutes after arriving at Lea Green who very kindly let me go in straight away even though they had others waiting. Woodcroft wasn't even busy. I later find out that many others have swapped vets for very similar reasons.Read Less

I find the constant upselling to be very difficult. Having recently moved from a veterinary practice that was too far to travel to we had high expectations and were looking forward to being connected to a vets that would be able to provide the level of care we are keen for our animals to have. On one visit we were made to feel as though we would be neglecting our dog if we did not buy the flea treatments Woodcroft recommend. Despite advising I already have flea treatment left from the old vet, at the time I was made to feel as though it was inadequate and on reflection I am annoyed I allowed myself to be talked into buying. I would have quite happily made the purchase without feeling pressured into doing so once the treatments I already had were finished. This also happened with the boosters. On another occasion, as a proper investigation was not carried out we had to return - not only purchasing more treatments and another consultation cost, but our poor dog had to suffer for longer than was necessary. That said the staff are lovely and very good with the animals. Just a shame they seem to be on commission.Read Less

My Mum's cat, Fifi, unfortunately had to be euthanised this evening. Woodcroft isn't her registered vet, but was recommended by Greenbank as the emergency practice. I'm sorry I don't know the vet's name but he was informative and sensitive to the obvious trauma of the cat and my mums emotions. She was euthanised while sat on my mum's lap and in the circumstances, I can't think of a more peaceful way to go. There wasn't time or sufficient emotional energy at the time to say thank you, so I thought I'd say thank you now for the empathic, informed and sensitive manner in which Fifi was treated. Read Less
