First time I have visited this vet and the last. The vet herself seemed very nice, but I was made to feel that I was an inconvenience by the receptionist who seemed to be more interested in her phone. After my dog was checked for a slight ear infection which took about 3 minutes I was then charged extortionate prices for the medication on top of the consultation fees. Overall I felt ripped off and will be looking elsewhere for future treatments and Pet insurance. Read Less

Last September my perfectly healthy collie Codie collapsed on our morning walk. I rushed her to Birch vet's and Mr Shepherd diagnosed her problem immediately (ruptured spleen) and rushed her into surgery. It was a big shock. She was in a bad way but his fast actions meant she was able to enjoy another two months with us pain free and happy. It also meant she could join us on a family holiday in Scotland where she never stopped smiling and had the time of her life. She as like a puppy again. Sadly the cancer had spread though and Codie collapsed again at the end of November. Again Mr Shepherd rushed her to surgery but sadly there was nothing that could be done. Through the most difficult time Birch were caring and couldn't do enough. I have another five dogs and six rabbits and always ask for Mr Shepherd now and wouldn't go anywhere elseRead Less
