I cannot recommend this hospital highly enough. I have been going there with my Springer Spaniels since 2002. The care and compassion of Dr Tony Paige and his staff has been excellent. Dr Paige is always kind, gentle and considerate to his patients and their owners, he explains everything so you can understand and always explains the options. One of my dogs had an operation a few years ago, she recovered very well and although it was on her soft tummy, you can't even see the scar. Recently we had to put our beloved D'artagnan to sleep, and heartbreaking though it was, we knew, and Dr Paige knew it was the right thing. He gave us 8 extra months with our best hairy friend and we will be eternally grateful for that time with him. This practice is spotless clean, good parking, good waiting facilities and the reception staff and nurses are fantastic. I would not take my dogs anywhere else. Thank you. Read Less

I got recommended this vet from mutual friends who take their pets here, although, I am fairly disappointed. we registered our Staffordshire Bull Terrier here and the service was brilliant. We soon started seeing changes in our dogs skin and he was itching a lot to the point he would start bleeding so we took him in April/May regarding this and got told he had an allergy to something, however, no tests were done to rule out any other causes. Anyways, he was prescribed Apoquel and every time his course of this ran out we were back to square one. I mentioned a skin scrape only to be shot down and told there is no point as it's definitely an allergy, how they came to this conclusion I'll never know. I then looked into an allergy test to be told they wouldn't do this either and wanted me to wait until he had been though another season, so basically to let my poor boy suffer for another year at least! We took him today to get a second opinion from another Veterinary Clinic and got more help from them in one consultation that the past roughly 6 months at Ayrton. I cannot recommend this place more highly! Our dog has had a growth that started as a small pimple and over the course of 4 years grew into a giant horrible bleeding mass. Our old vets would not entertain removing it no matter how many times I asked them over the four years. After getting exasperated I went to Ayrton and spoke with a fantastic vet called Mair. Within a few days the grow was removed under general anaesthetic and two months later our dog is absolutely perfect. Took my little kitten Ahsoka to Ayrton as an emergency, turns out she had swallowed something that had gotten stuck in her bowels. The vets checked everything very carefully, and within a couple of hours she was in surgery to have the obstruction removed. The entire team were fantastic in helping me get everything sorted out, going through all the details and updating me regularly with how she was. The next day my little pal was back home and running riot with her two brothers. Amazing guys, thank you so much!Read Less

If your pet requires treatment you should visit Tony Paige at Ayrton Veterinary Hospital in Whitburn, you can be assured that your pet will be treated with care and affection by Tony and all of his staff members. Sheba had her cruciate ligament repaired by Tony and you would never know that there had ever been anything wrong with her, Cassie (the baby of the family) had an Ununited Anconeal Process and she struggled to walk and was in constant pain.Tony operated on Cassie last year and did a sliding humeral osteotomy on her, since then she has gone from strength to strength, and she is running around with Bernie and Sheba as though there had never been anything wrong with her. We were with another veterinary practice prior to joining Ayrton Veterinary Hospital and there is NO comparison between them. Read Less

Our two Dalmatians had keyhole surgery on Tuesday - laparoscopic spays to ensure that we do not have the pitter-patter of little Daly or ????? feet :) Best decision ever to spend a bit more than on traditional spay. The girls were completely unfazed and seemed as happy as before the procedure when we collected them a few hours later. No disruption to their exercise routines other than the fact that we decided to keep them on the lead for 1 day after surgery. Day 2 and they were running like the lunatics they are.

We have all 8 of our animals with Ayrton and I have never found a more dedicated and understanding set of people. They really go above and beyond to make sure that you feel confident about your animal's cafe. My animals are always relaxed because (despite being ill when visiting) they have never had a negative experience. I would recommend to everyone looking for a new vet or a change. Read Less

Huge thank you to the team at Ayrton, especially Dr.Page. Read Less
